Ah but then there's finding a teapot that doesn't dribble when it pours. . .

Ok first would way up the cost of also adding a grinder,to getting a bean to cup,if you eventually decided grinder plus coffee machine, then buyy a grinder that has a burr grind, the rest just chop it same as a liquidizer, then again you also may as well look down just getting pre ground coffee[ Lavva is great for latte's] Also when getting a coffee machine get a pumped one not boiler, boiler runs out of steam quickly other is continuous, also try to get a decent sized water tank 1 tr or you will be re filling every few cups, your also looking for pumped pressure of 15 bar good thing later date you do get a bean to cup,the grinder makes an excellent pepper grinder to! and for anything else a mortar and pestle can do[ not wet stuff ie garlic crushing] As for tassimos i looked at them before i got my bean to cup, dependant on bean costs[yes some are silly money lol] the beans worked out cheaper per cup, plus some bean to cup like mine is dual i can use ground or beans oh and good thing about beans if you have some and there very near sell by date you can freeze them and use them within 3 months this is mine cheaper than what i paid!! but do look over the net you may find it even cheaper just use make and model number in search www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DELONGHI-Magnifica-Bean-To-Cup-ESAM4200S-Coffee-Machine-Silver-/231007506217?pt=UK_Homes_Garden_Kitchen_Kettles&hash=item35c91ecf29

Last coffee machine I had was £7 from tesco, worked a treat and lasted 2.5 years.
Didn't buy any filter coffee as I knew I had some at home. Eventually found it in back of a cupboard and it made a delicious brew.
Only after did I check the wrapper and found it was 3 years out of date! Still drank the rest of it though, vacuum packed foil had kept it loovely and fresh.
