Received mine today. The spring is seriously strong, pliers and softgrip vice required to take it apart. I couldn't see any threadlock/glue, just a very tightly threaded screw. I don't have any magnets or a softer spring of the same size so I filled the spring cavity with some packing foam, nice and soft with enough resistance to stand with a heavy atty on it, works a treat as a short term solution. If someone with decent callipers could measure the ID/OD of the spring cavity I will try to find some suitable magnets. Suggestions for sourcing a softer spring would be appreciated too... I guess this is a 23mm mod as I don't have any atty's which really look good on it, any suggestions there? Many thanks to Rick for organising, find me at Vapefest for a pint

Received mine this morning, nice looking mechanical mod however I'm finding the button tough to press, it feels like my fingers will have to do the weights to build up the strength or is there a easier solution to lessen the tension of the button press. Tried it in both modes and there is a rattle but after reading and seeing your pics on your thread, the screw trick more or less sorted it. Cheers for that Ric. Overall please with the 8w and the same applies as Mr Lord has stated in finding the right atty to give it the right look. The Sigelei kick is redundant because I need a 18500 battery to fit in the 650 tube,. By using the kick in 18650 tube with a 18350 battery + kick won't work because of the gap between the pin and top cap. The smaller tube + kick is no use as you cannot put the top cap on. The only solution I can think of is by using a 18500 battery in 18650 tube so the kick can make contact with top cap or buy a telescopic mechanical mod, unless someone comes up with another solution.
Really happy with the mod despite the stiffness of the button press.
Thank you Ric for your hard work and organisation of the group buy and please let us know when your doing another one as this one was exceptional.
Edited just to say the tension of the button press is easier now.

ukric. Yes the spring in the button is a little stiff, but nothing of concern. Works extremely well, and button fires every time, with less than 1 mm travel adjustment of locking screw. Please let me know when you are doing another group buy. Excellent transaction. Well pleased. Thank you, from a very happy vaper.

the locking screw shouldn't effect the throw on the switch Jeff mate, it will only go as far as the battery allows and stops when it makes contact. You would need to alter/add something inside to shorten the throw by not allowing the button to be released as far. Ric dropped mine off today (very very nice man) Button is very stiff but will sort it out somehow..

Mev how do you get at the button spring ??? I`ve tried to unscrew the knurled headed screw, by clamping brass ring in vice using plastic jaws so as not to mark brass, but that centre screw is "f*****g solid, can not shift it at all. Any suggestions please. Happy vaping.
