True, but I've never had problems with the 18650 batteries, just once a 18350 went short and caused the hotspring to collapse.
I suppose I could try and devise a method to have the spring at the +ve end of the battery so if something did happen to cause it to collapse, gravity would drop the battery out of contact. Maybe version 2!

Yeah, I'd may consider plugging up the vent hole at the top and drilling one in the side? That way if the battery does vent, you dont get blasted in the face with it.
