Protank on SS wick, an alternative to Genies

Ok, so time for some advice please, I gave this a go at the weekend and initially when I checked it on my Vamo it came out to 1.6ohms then when I test fired it it dropped to 1ohm which was too low for the Vamo to fire. This was both dry and with eliquid on. I figured I needed to test fire it to ensure I had good glow on the coils.
I noticed the kanthal glow up the positive leg and it dropped almost as it reached the SS mesh

I think that is what is known as having a hot spot. Try some of Todd's videos on you tube, he doesn't quite explain it all, but he covers a lot of it. Hope it helps.  ok, he's not working with protanks, but it does cover some of the carry on with coils.

Hopefully someone else will know a lot more and rescue us both soon!
