I haven`t got one, but it was one of the things that kept catching my eye as I was browsing around, the flat top stainless version I was looking at - the best deal locally I could find was about £56 delivered, which was a bit too much for something I didn`t need.
Also, I didn`t fully check into it but wanted to know what chipset it`s using, and if it has the same problem as the Vamo with it`s PWM rapid stuttering when firing up - then I`d give it a miss anyway as I don`t want another one of those.....
So, I`m interested to hear if someone has this and what it`s like.

Why is the Zmax,Vamo type PWM regulation a problem?

There`s a staccato machine gun fire sound when it fires up - it`s very fast and drives me round the twist, to the point I don`t actually use my Vamo at all

Comparing it to the sound of a machine gun firing is a bit of a stretch. It's hardly noticeable unless you amplify it. And it's 33 hz a second, so fairly rapid as to blend in as one continuous sound.
You must have very sensitive hearing that it bothers you amongst all the other sounds in a generally noisy world that we live in..

I didn`t mean in terms of volume ...but rather the very rapid on/off chugging it makes, it does it in VV mode as well.... cartos in tanks do seem to amplify it quite a lot and they`re hardly the quietest devices around to begin with, whereas with a Protank it`s hardly noticeable - but I use carto/tanks 99% of the time

Bonner did a review on them, can't remember him saying anything about humming. I looked at some for a group buy. $38 before shipping and taxes I was quoted for the flat top version.

To give my opinion on your query, they are likely to use exactly the same chip and firmware, given that it works very well. So it will staccato..

You want it to be in mode 2.

I am ssscruddy I have read up on it a little bit since, there are several threads about it here & there and it seems to be a known "thing" with certain chipsets that operate at a lower frequency than others.... there was a lot of techno jargon, but I think that`s the long and short of it.

No, he is right. with certain atomisers you can hear it, and the sound is amplified through carto tanks i've found, it doesn't drive me around the bend but it is there. i wouldn't quite call it a machine gun but it's more a hiss lol.

I have the Sigelei flat head telescopic and I can just about hear the PWM effect in a silent room (vaping at 9 watts). Most of the time I don't notice it al all, but it doesn't bother me when I do.... There again I don't use cartos much.

With an RSST the 'rattlesnake' effect is not noticeable at all, but with a Protank on top it gets REALLY loud.
