Thanks everyone ... I just wanted to be able to sit back with my feet up with a cold one and a book. In the past of course, there would have been an ashtray close by. I like my Vamo but to have that weight hanging off your teeth was just too much. I guess having been a Tolkien freak for close to 50 years must have had a hand in it somewhere. OH well on with the next one ...

I couldn`t modify a cardboard box - even if I had all the bits in front of me, so I`m always impressed when people are able to fiddle with intricate electronics & tools and come up with something.

Turning the bowl and drilling out the wooden stem was the easy bit. ( I make pens on the lathe) Trying to work with the wrong switch was a right royal pain in the rear!! I should have changed it but was too impatient to try it out to sort out a better one!! Mechanical switches are the way to go I think ... but ... I might give a switch / pcb from an Ego setup a go.
