Well this is the first year of hopefully many years of Vaping and boy oh boy, talk about teaching an old dog new tricks!!! I have had to learn a bit about Electronics, Chemistry, Accountancy and generally become a Jack of all trades and master of none. However, I digress. The real reason for writing this is to put on record my change from a 40 super king a day smoker to a one year old Vaper and to put some perspective into that year to show those that are just starting out, how I made that journey, what it has cost and the benefits that it has brought to our household. I started with the Skycig cig-a-like kit that I got on a special offer for 12 quid. I quickly added a third battery to that kit and it took me a month, using it to go from yon 40 a day to 100% vaping. I still have that kit and I occasionally use it. Within 2 weeks of being a 100% vaper I invested in a Vision 1000 kit from Vape Escape and that is still in use, every day, 52 weeks down the road. A great bit of kit from a most helpful Vendor.
I have kept an accurate record of everything I have spent over the year and it comes to £2302.00. That works out at £6.30p a day. If I had continued smoking I would now be spending £14.56p a day.
That £2302.00 has bought me;- The Ego Vision 1000 kit with a third battery. 10 X Clearos, 10 X Cartos, 6 X Tanks and 2 X Spheroids. 1 X Ego Twist, 1 X SD Keyring, 1 X Vamo, 1 X Zmax, 2 X TZmaxes, 2 X Box Mods and 1 X Provari Mini. Numerous concentrated Flavourings, several litres of PG and VG and 11 years’ supply of Nic Base. I have always tried to buy the best I can afford on the basis that good quality items last longer. The fact that equipment I bought a year ago and still use appears to bear this out. Okay, now the benefits.
Over and above what I have spent on Vaping, I have saved over £3000 by not buying my usual fags. The health benefits are enormous ofcourse, but I also have a cleaner house and car, indeed we have had some redecorating done as well. We have ordered a new car and we have bought a s/h caravan.
None of these things would have even been thought about a year ago, never mind achievable.
I have never spent more than half of what my smoking would have cost me so there has always been more money going into the bank than what would have been if I had continued smoking.
So if you are still thinking about trying Vaping, you have nothing to lose, but the gains might just be, beyond your wildest dreams!
Like mine are.

Excellent post, lobeydosser! Huge congratulations! Life as a vaper is so much more satisfying than that of a 40 a day smoker.
