it may be the product key you have is for the 32bit version and you are trying to download the 64bit or visa / versa Cool thank you. Hate paying for things when I don't have to.

zeldamum - there is also OpenOffice which is free, looks and feels just like MSOffice and runs like a dream. I object on principle to paying for software unless I have to, so always use free versions, and prefer software that don't impregnate the whole computer! Exceptions to this are things like Sibelius, a music notation app. which I use more than Office , i.e. daily! Andy I have downloaded it thank you chykensa. Meeting a non vaping friend on Sunday morning to show him what I know. He has been a confirmed smoker with no interested to quit until he tried my little out and about Riva at the weekend. Hopefully we will have another local vaper

Love windows 8... A Massive leap forward imo. Love the 'just type' feature. Whatever I'm looking for, programs, files, folders... anything, just start to type it's name on the start screen and it appears. I remember when windows search features used to take 30 minutes to find that pesky spreadsheet you'd lost. Couldn't disagree more, Windows 8 is vile. Couldn't get on with it at all! I never got as far as trying it Digi . . . bought a new lap top with it on, then got my friendly PC man to take it off and install Windows 7 instead. Which I love. Heard the other week there's a free W8 upgrade coming out later in the year to make it more like W7 and user friendly for those without touch screens.

I am sure once I have got my head around it it will be ok. I hate learning new things unless I have lots of time spare which i don't at the moment. Get the Scout Jamboree out of the way week Saturday then I will should be ok, in the meantime everything is manic.
Thank you guys for the free alternatives.
Just need to copy over my emails and gain access to emails on my new computer and I will be set.

I can't believe people were telling you to ditch MS office for free stuff. If you "own" MS office, you can use it on a new windows 8 computer. There will not be an issue. Finding the solution is less easy. Did you download it in the first place? and then buy a license/product key? Maybe you can licence it over the phone. If you've swapped your primary machine and wish to use it, it will be almost certainly within the EULA. support.microsoft.com/kb/927921

They just told me I can only download it twice end of. However I have another copy with them that hasn't been downloaded at all and it won't let me download it. I will argue the case when I have got the computer sorted out with all my business stuff etc. So what are the chances of 2 computers dying in the space of a week!!!! At least the 2nd one is still under guarantee just - 5 days left:).

I cant install win 8 on my old laptop as the video card is not suitable ATI mobile For people who hate the start screen on win 8 you can always download either a win 7 GUI or even a winxp GUI making win 8 more to your liking such as a start icon.. Have a look here for details
