I have just purchased a new computer which is Windows 8. Nothing i already have seems compatible with it.
Can't download my copy of office 2010 or 2007 and it wont recognise the product keys I have.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Forget MS office and download Kingsoft Office Free. It's the same code as office, it will read all your existing docs, it is a small program and its free

it may be the product key you have is for the 32bit version and you are trying to download the 64bit or visa / versa

Couldn't get it to download either 32 bit or 64. When I tried to enter the product key for the free trial computer said 'no'.
Thanks oneday I will take a look tomorrow. Really don't want to buy yet another Microsoft office.

zeldamum - there is also OpenOffice which is free, looks and feels just like MSOffice and runs like a dream. I object on principle to paying for software unless I have to, so always use free versions, and prefer software that don't impregnate the whole computer! Exceptions to this are things like Sibelius, a music notation app. which I use more than Office , i.e. daily! Andy

I think it is, I read the UK one won't be out for a short while yet. And it's a pre release, which you will have to remove and reupdate when the proper one comes out. (I think) FWIW my Win8 is the best compatable software I've ever had, it's loaded everything I've asked it to, even some really old programs after automatically downloading the updates it needed. from me for compatibility.

Love windows 8... A Massive leap forward imo.
Love the 'just type' feature. Whatever I'm looking for, programs, files, folders... anything, just start to type it's name on the start screen and it appears. I remember when windows search features used to take 30 minutes to find that pesky spreadsheet you'd lost.

I was pretty sceptical when I bought my new pc with W8 and I must say on the whole I am pleasantly surprised I am running Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise Edition incidentally

"SkyDrive is now the default location for saving documents. So you always have your files wherever you go, even when you’re offline. And with the included SkyDrive app, you can manage both local files and SkyDrive files in one place." Even easier for the NSA to see what you're up to
