Soooo. received the Vamo today, and 4 evods. So while the battery is charging away, I decided to try the evods on my blister pack battery, with some juice that I already tried.

I am impressed. I never realised there would be such a difference with clearomisers. Better throat hit (although I was liking how it was much smoother than the skycigs I had tried previously). Much better vapour, and an overall much better experience. And this is without switching on the Vamo.

Now to find a guide on how to use the v4, lol.

That is a hell of a start there. Straight into a vamo. You should be pretty pleased with yourself right now
7 months down the line and 3 mods later my vamo is still getting used as my work mod and has not missed a beat.

Well, the Vamo arrived yesterday, at around 15.30 pm. So I instantly got the battery on charge. Who would have thought it would take so long. It wasn't until around 22:30 that the battery charger even showed a yellow, never mind a green.

Anyway, I spent most of the afternoon / evening with the evods on the blister pack battery. What a difference. A far more consistent flavour, good vapour, and a nice throat hit. Much better than I was expecting, and I felt I should have just got another couple of them packs, a few more evods, and I would have been sweet.

So, I couldn't wait any longer, and when I saw the charger light turn yellow, I had to fire up the Vamo. I am obviously still getting used to it. Trying to find the sweet spot is hard. To be honest, I'm really too new to have figured out exactly what I want.

For example, at 5.0 Watts it seems nice and smooth. Plenty of vapour, but the taste is slightly metallic with the paradise vape cola (36mg). A taste not replicated with the blister pack. Up the watts and it doesn't really seem to get any better (same with downing the watts). I think that flavour tastes better on the blister pack battery, through the evod if I'm honest. Not a great start.

However, if I move onto my Irn Bru juice (again from Paradise Vape, 36 mg), vaping away at 6.5 watts, and it is a lovely full flavour. Nice vapour release, and a very pleasant experience. It tastes, well not like real Irn Bru, but not unlike cheap supermarket Irn Bru. Not my favourite Irn Bru taste, but certainly an improvement over the cola (perhaps shouldn't have bought 30 ml of that stuff. You live and learn. Although it is good with the blister pack battery in an evod). I can certainly live with it, and am certainly not too disappointed. I wasn't really expecting to vape that stuff and it taste just like Barrs Irn Bru.

I got some Red Cow (16mg) from Charlies vape shop when I ordered the Vamo. I had a taste of my friends in-laws Red Bull and it impressed me enough to get into this whole vaping scene. I didn't realise it was only 16 mg though. In fact, all the e-liquids I got from them were 16 mg, and as a newly retired smoker, 16 mg doesn't touch the sides. All their liquids will probably be stored until I no longer have the mad urge to go grab a pack of real smokes. Anyway, the flavour from that stuff, while on the Vamo, is sooooo strong. It is nice, but a little too sweet for a regular vape. A nice little change, but not an all day vape that's for sure. I need to figure out how to decant my evod back into the bottle, so I can clean these out and try different e-liquid flavours now.

So there is little point in opening the cherry or root beer from Charlies Vape Shop as they are both 16mg. I didn't order the Root Beer by the way, it was thrown in as my order was large enough to warrant it. I did ask for a tobacco flavour, as I don't have any. But I received a root beer instead??? Not to worry. Didn't matter what I was sent, at 16mg, it aint gonna cut it just now. So all I have left now is the strawberry lemonade to try in the Vamo (again from p.v. at 36 mg). I do have a spare evod to load up with it, so I will give it a try later.

All of the above was based on the Vamo / Evod combo btw. I still have my one CE5+ (I think, from the blister pack) loaded up with the cola. And it tastes pretty fine on the Vamo if I'm honest. Much better than it does on the evod. How weird is that? But that cartridge or whatever it is (clearomiser?) is nothing if not inconsistent. The flavour and vapour is sometimes spot on, then the next vape it's almost like there is nothing. Weird.

So.... Anyway, I ordered a couple protank mini's to try out, and a couple protanks also. And an iclear 30 to try. Mostly from fasttech, but the mini's were from UK, but not in stock just now, but they had a deal on where they were less than a tenner each, delivered, so it would have been rude not to at that price. Should be here next week.

I'll also have to get some tobacco flavours in and menthol flavours for my taste buds off days. I need to find a good all day flavour, and I'm thinking some sort of tobacco flavour should hit the spot. So can anyone recommend a supplier where I can get a few different tobaccos flavours (preferably a B&H kind of flavour), at 36 mg and a reasonable price for smaller quantities?

Overall I am happy with my purchases. I hope that the new tanks work for me when they arrive. And I am still looking forward to the journey from here on in.

A couple other things though. With the Vamo, I got a ego case. What an absolute POS. I am unsure how much of the kit price was assigned to the case, but it wasn't worth it. I can get the Vamo in, sure, but it wont close when the other side is loaded up with clearomisers. WTF??? And being like an electric blue colour is just camp as... Any ideas on a decent, black case, that will hold my gear without fear of cracking / breaking half of it?

And ss (I think you call it, shiny syndrome) has already started. While I am pretty happy with the blister pack battery sitting as a back up, I have been looking for another MOD as a back up already. Don't think I'm quite ready for Provari expense, and it isn't VW either, so probably wouldn't go down that route anyway. But I have started looking for another VW mod as a Vamo back-up / something different. Oh dear.

Yeah, it looks like I have. And I had no desire to even quit smoking either. Just picked this up as a "hobby" and have been tobacco free ever since (albeit only 72 hours, lol).

Yes, I am enjoying it. A bit of a learning curve, but hey ho. My worry is I pick up and leave hobbies quite easily. But I am determined to do this at least until my outlay equals what I would have spent on cigarettes. So thus far we are looking 4-5 weeks minimum. If I manage that though, I see no reason why would go back to cigarettes anyway.

It has certainly taken over my life as a hobby including this forum much to my oh dissmay despite me trying to get her on here and participate vaping is just means not to smoke not a hobby. I have a spredsheet running and as long as i dont spend more than what we would have on ciggys im happy.

Well, since your sig shows that you have avoided £2786 up to today, I guess you would have had to have spent a small fortune in the last 6 months. So you must surely be very happy.

On the other hand, I just made up a spreadsheet today also, so I can track what I got, and from where, how much it cost, discounts, postage costs etc... Looks like I am already up ant a couple hundred quid. Problem is that is only in 3-4 days. A little more than the apparent £22.20 I have saved on cigarettes.

Not to worry though, the initial rush is over I think. I am pretty set-up now with my purchases, having ordered 80ml of different flavours to try today, ontop of the 130ml approx I already have. So short of a few heads here and there, I should be set-up for the next month or two I hope. Although I am already looking for another vw mod.... hmmmmmm. (Not that there is anything wrong with the Vamo, very happy with it indeed. But variety is the spice of life so they say).

On the bad news front though, I am at work just now, having forgotten to take my vamo, e-juice, and charger for the blister battery I have as a back-up. So I have a small amount of low mg cherry vape in my blister pack (thankfully with an evod) as I was toking that in the car on the way up. Just hope it lasts out the day (e-liquid & battery) or else I might have to go buy a 10 deck to tide me over until I get home. Grrrrr...

This is why I keep a spare blister pack (less than £10) in my glove compartment, in case of emergencies!

Well, I got some flavour samples through yesterday, so cracked open a Tobacco one this morning to see if that could be my new day vape. Yuck. I doubt it. I got 4 different tobacco flavours, and I suspect they are all rank.

I did get a mint candy though, and it is quite nice. Nicer than I expected anyway. Might go for a more minty day vape than I had previously anticipated. Who knows? I think I'll maybe try mixing my own actually. I like the sound of the Half Marathon in the recipe thread on here, and there are a few others that sound great. But I do have a couple hundred ml of e-liquid to get through already, so that will take a while. Might leave it a week or so until my taste buds settle down before ordering a kit. Then I'll probably have a good month or so before I get through all this, so plenty time for the flavours to brew up...
