Good morning fellow vapers,
What do you use to monitor your battery voltage when out and about, using a mechanical mod?
I have previously come across something called a 'Tankometer' from what I remember. But £40 is a bit of a high price tag for what it is.
Any input would be much appreciated :-)
Lovely day out there again, wish my work had a roof like a convertible car!

or buy a £3 multimeter off of Ebay, you can then use it to check resistances etc.

Thanks a lot for the links. I shall get one of those when I decide it's been enough gap between my last expensive order!

Timbo - why do you need to know the voltage? If the vape turns crap, change the battery. Job done

Could always run it with a kick if your coil is over 1.2ohms, built to cut off at 3.2v I believe.

I don't bother either with stuff like that, way too much faff for me . . . just take a couple of spare batteries out and about. Sorted.

wire one of these to an old clearo and save yourself a few quid Wow that is a great find!! Do you just put each each end on the battery orrr?!! I am not much of a tech wiz. I will take the advice and just stop using it when it drops in quality. Or get the above if I understand how to use it. Only reason I wanted to test the voltage was to be on the safe side, I thought over discharging the battery was very un safe so I wanted to do my best to avoid it!

The way I understand it, the only time you would have a problem with over-discharging, would be if you use an un-protected battery in a mech-mod. All other scenarios have some kind of electronics to avoid over discharge. Maybe someone will say I'm wrong, but at least we'll both know, one way or the other.
My Rivas stop before there is a problem. My mini-LT stops before there is a problem. A mech-mod with a protected battery should stop before there is a problem. A mech-mod with unprotected batteries would be at danger from other problems as well, so only protected baatteries should be used.

TimboAnd as for the voltmeter that fiddles linked to above: robby did a post somewhere on putting one into a knackered vivi-nova - maybe you, or someone else can find the thread/post. You'd just need to screw it on to your mod to check voltage, but you need to solder the 2 wires to the 510 connector of the vivi.
