Hi all
I have read the forum as a bit of a lurker for a while now to get a feel of the place, I like it - such a friendly group
I am very confused as to what to buy though, I have looked over the guides and still have no idea what to go for :-)
I used to smoke 40 x Marlboro Gold per day, stopped those and went down to a couple of Café Crème Blue cigars but now find myself smoking more of those per day (was always going to happen wasn't it!) - I have used eCig's before, starting on the cheap and nasty one's from Amazon and Ski Cig one's and they were ok but didn't stop me going back to the mini-cigars
I like the idea of a clearomizer for the ease of filling but read that they can perish quickly; I don't really understand the cartomizers (are they the same but you cant see the tank?) and what about atomizers? are they similar to the disposable ecigs?
The names/power of either a throat burning drag or a nice longer smoke/draw (my preference)
Are there any recommendations too for the liquid? Something along the Marlboro Camel lines (or even Café Crème) to get em started before I start mixing fruit flavours which I like the sound of.
I am looking for something that will last all day ideally so I can take it to work etc. now I don't have the biggest budget but am open to suggestions
Can you help me????? LOL

Hi An atomiser, is what turns your liquid into vapour. You can find them in different forms inc: Clearomisers; These are many and varied, some do perish very quickly, most of the newer ones have changeable heads/coils (atomisers) so unless you drop it or use a tank cracking liquid, they should go on for a long time. My personal recommendations are evods and iClear16, both are reliable cheap to run and sturdy. The evod takes more bashing than the iClears however. Cartomisers; These are metal tubes with wadding and an atomising coil hidden inside. Some people love them (I don't) The coil inside will degrade the same way one in a clearomiser will, and once it is "done" you throw out the whole cartomiser. Tanks; Use cartomisers to atomise the liquid inside the tank, so you need to change the cartomiser regularly. I hope this helps a little

Hello and Welcome to the fold
If you look at your smoking habit ie cigars you are going to need some strong juice or you wont get to hit you need so I would look to start around 24mg as for the flavor I,m not into the ciggie flavors but hold on someone will be along soon to advise you ...!
As for the kit I'm in the EVod camp

victye I'd suggest getting a kit like this one, you get two batteries (so you can always have one on charge) and the Evods, which are quality clearomisers. If you want to dive straight into variable voltage, however, you might want to consider a Spinner or two. Variable voltage (VV) allows you to customise the heat and throat hit of your vape, which you might find useful if you're smoking cigars. I don't do baccy flavours much myself, but Long Bottom Leaf is really nice

Thanks guys, all very useful and thank you for clearing this up too I was heading to the clearomizers, possibly the EVOD by the sound of things as that seems to be a favourite from your replies and other threads I have seen but I am confused by the variable voltage one's that Jen mentioned, like I said earlier I would prefer a longer, smoother draw. I have seen on other threads things like drip tips? I have also read 501's and 901's (have I got that correct?) Still confused LOL I like the sound of the espresso flavoured liquid, I will def. be ordering that anyway!BTW giles, your signature has just made me laugh very loudly in the office, asked why I shared it around! Brilliant !

Basically you can turn the heat up or down to suit your own personal vaping style. Low volts will produce less heat, more flavour and less throat hit so you can take a long draw without burning your juice and it tasting all nasty. High volts will turn up the heat, give you more throat heat and slightly less flavour which is great if you want to take short, strong bursts. You won't need a drip tip with an Evod as it comes integrated

Thanks again for the replies. I am looking at the EVOD and also a Vamo (I think the liquid will be starter kits and the coffee one giles mentioned) but definitely variable and am looking over other threads (a really good one Space started) there is also the EGO from ukecabin but that says it doesn't have the 5 button switch off. Are all of these very good at not leaking too by the way?

Nearly everything these days is a 510 fitting (the size of the screw attachment, that puts everything together) a 901 won't fit on a 510. Ego fittings are 510, which means that an ego battery can take either a 510 or an ego atty. However a 510 battery can not take an ego atty without an adapter (cheap and easy to find). Drip tips are wonderful things (basically the name for the bit you put in your mouth), but as Jen pointed out the evod ones are integral and can't be changed. With an iClear16 you can buy an adapter which will allow you to use any 510 drip tip. I suggest you forget about drip tips for now until you have the basics in order. Any clearomiser you choose will come ready to use, and you can mess with the details later I also like long draws, so I enjoy lower voltages than some. I love my spinner, but occasionally I am annoyed by the 10second cut off (if you hold the button down for more than 10secs it cuts off until you release it and press again) My pipe (which I think is what is called a mechanical mod, which means it has no electrical "guidance system") is perfect, I can keep the power running as long as I want, and it suits me when slouched in front of the telly. I also find the high VG juice is more satisfying for longer draws, as you get clouds of vapour In the beginning however you may find high vg juice a little lacking in throat hit, which some people associate with the smoking experience. Hubby and I never found a tobacco flavour we liked, although I almost like the T-juice cigar flavours, and would suggest them to you to try. He is now on coffee exclusively, and loves his coffee dekang, which at least is fairly cheap, and makes the house smell like an expensive café His second favourite is T-juice Java Juice, which has the advantage of being a clearer fluid than the dekang, and so not so hard on attys. You can also buy the concentrate for this, which means you can easily mix it yourself for economy, and messing about with nicotine levels. I vape at least 10 flavours, because I am a woman and can never make up my mind Decadent vapours absinthe is one of my favourites (and many people agree with me on this one, unlike many of the others where I am considered weird.)

Flue Cured from Vape Escape is a very nice tabacco taste. Rather like vaping a smoked kipper with a touch of caramel and fudge thrown in. well thats what i get from it anyway
