Great talk from one of the worlds top experts in smoking cessation Professor Peter Hajek - www.uknscc.org/uknscc2013_presentation_200.php?show=archiveSpread it around folks, he likes e cigs and he helped develop inhalator's, sprays and champix and thinks e cigs are the best development so far but legislation could make them useless.

Thanks for this. Any responses to ecigs I've seen from public health have been very negative so far.

I thought it was great when he said that medical regulation would kill e-cigs... and Jeremy Mean was there. Result

Wow, this gentleman really rates e-cigs, and if we could get his vocal support, he is one of the top advisors in the country. He makes some very interesting points:- e-cigs work, and will continue to evolve UNLESS the Government is allowed to proceed with its decision to medicalise them, in which case they will not get a fair chance. Mr. Hajek considers e-cigs already good enough to be a viable alternative to more traditional forms of NRT , although the long-term research into their safety has not yet been undertaken. He would, and does, recommend e-cigs to his friends and patients as a good way of avoiding tobacco. He raises a titter at one point by saying that, to a smoker, they are completely safe compared to tobacco. Somewhat precised, this, but very interesting. THanks vereybowring for posting this. Andy BTW - well worth running the slideshow as you listen!

Indeed, if he helped develop that kind of "medication" i don't have any desire to watch him or have no desire to support anything he says, even if it benefits us.
