I tried that vanillin quite sometime ago and for the hell of me i could not tell the difference, saying that my taste buds died quite sometime ago

I'm finding my plain cap vanilla custard at 15% bland so I've mixed the last of it at 20% but I definitely feel it needs a wee something. I've got stevia sweetener and followed the tutorial on here of how to mix it so I'm going to order FVDeluxe cause I like creamy sweetness.
What is vanillin ? I doubt I would notice it because I can't pick out flavour in juice that are written on the bloody bottle

I use Vanillin in lots of mixes now Rom Super-Shiny - Caramels/Toffees at 1-2% it just adds an extra creamy layer of flavour, which I like.

Lucky you, i have taken a turn for the worse, i thought it was a short term thing but i can't vape anything too sweet anymore or i feel like

It's the reason i am vaping tobacco flavours now with just a tad bit of caramel.

First it was me being alergic to silica and now sweet juices...what's next

It's also why i gave some of my sweet juices away to a member the other day, better to be used than not be used.

I don't find it sweet at all - perhaps I'm immune to sweetness, though I did always think you caned the sweetener.


I'm sure at one time you had shares in TPA's sweetener Rom.

Hi Perps, do you use the pre-mixed Vanillin or do you mix your own using crystals?
I have always used Ethyl Maltol but I tried my mix of PVC with PA brown sugar......not sure that I like it. I tend to use 4% sweetener as my preference, cos I like my custard sweet, so just wondered what Vanillin brings to the party.

4% Sweetener Neil.

Though EM has never done anything for me must admit . . . Vanillin I think makes more of a difference to the creaminess of VC, rather than sweetness. Have you tried Stevia or a Sucralose based sweetener? You absolutely won't need 4% of either of those.

I started off with the premix Vanillin, then went onto the crystals and just make a solution up in PG like you do with Menthol crystals - it's well worth trying I reckon.

PS. If you've any Capella Sugar Cookie, that could be worth trying in with VC Greigster, it's quite sweet but not especially Cookieish. I've just used it in a trial Custard Cream brew and it's quite yummy.

It may be that the Ethyl Maltol gives a tiny taste of candy floss, which I quite like but I will give the Vanillin crystals a try. Where do you get your crystals from?
