I've been thinking about giving dripping a go and I'm looking at ordering a couple of cheap drippers from FT. I've noticed some of there drippers have brass posts and I'm sure I've read a thread somewhere stating that brass posts are no good, something to do with brass reacting with eliquid. Can anybody enlighten me in this subject a little before I take the plunge into the world of dripping

I didn't see anything about it reacting with juice, but more that people are being paranoid because it could/does have lead in it, and ingestion of lead is bad. But also I read that brass can have different levels of lead in, typically less than 2% - i guess the more lead, the softer it will be. There will always be 'expert chemists' that really don't have a clue but state a good case. I'd use an atty with brass posts no problem - it must still be waaaaaay better than burning tobacco or chewing the brightly coloured lead based paint off wooden toys when we were kids

You can get stainless with lead in, all metals are a mix of different metals And lead is something used in many of the cheaper grades. I thing the main argument is based around brass oxidising and the oxidants potentially Being dissolved by the nic juice.
An interesting aside. lead was added to petrol, to reduce knock, by a chemist called Midgely, he then went on to invent CFCs in refriguration. Meaning he polluted the air at ground level Nd damaged the upper atmosphere, he must have killed and iinjured more people than anyone in history. They made him president on the American pharmasuiticle society! the very people that are trying to stop us!

Apart from that, brass tasted awful, like sucking manky old pennies.

I've just ordered a couple of cheap drippers to see if I like it. I've only ever used tank setups so should be an interesting learning curve.
