Thanks for all the help I received when asking about batteries in return here are a few notes that I hope will be of help to those just starting to vape.
I started vaping about 2 months ago the first mistake I made was to buy E- Lites They are rubbish very little smoke, very little satisfaction, very great cost as the tips only last a few puffs. Don’t waste your money. An internet search brought me to Totally Wicked who recommended the Tornado Tank so I bought the intro kit. This works, producing enough vapour, the only problem is the tank leaks even with new caps as recommended by TW. Apart from needing lots of Kleenex this is a decent e-cig. I was the confronted by a bewildering array of e fluids, I found the Red Label brand particularly good, here are a few that I like:- Gold Virgin ….. A good one to smoke all day American red …… Another strong tobacco flavour
Banana Strawberry Sarsaparilla Aniseed …. The above four are good for a change I could not smoke them all day I’ve begun to mix my own It’s a lot cheaper and quite easy here’s a link to my mixing guide
I mix 100ml of 70/40 pg. /vg add nicotine to my desired strength (safety note MAX 3%) And store until needed. Then using s Tw’s flavours 2 mls in a measuring cylinder make up to 10 mls with the stored unflavoured mix. I started with 3% nicotine but have cut it to 2.5% it still does the job. To all those who have not vaped yet DO I have not smoked a cigarette since I began vaping I do not want one

Don’t waste your money. Bad luck. I did the same. TW American Red tobacco is one of my all-time favourites. I am steeping some homemade at this very moment. - - - I am intrigued about your mixing guide though. I use approximately 33% nicotine base liquid in my e-liquids. 3.3ml in every 10ml bottle. That makes 18mg/ml e-liquid.

Agree djs you have to know the nic strength, the percentage of nicotine on it's own doesn't mean a whole lot.

yes I was working from memory my mixing book in kitchen it was 2.5 % that was the strength of my last mix and yes it does make a 105 ml mix sorry been a long day your figures are the same as provided by the calculator. I could argue that with spillage I only end up with 100mls mix in the bottle but you are clearly too smart to accept that. With old age and poor eysight I think 100 ml mixes are better because minor errors are less significant than with 10 ml mixes, but as the flavour is the most expensive part 10mls is a better volume if it turns out you do not like it and end up pouring it down the sink. Maybe you can help me, with steepage. How long do you steep for and at what temp. I was told to store fluids in a cool dark place I keep mine in the fridge is that the best place do I need to steep for longer here.

derek I just store mine in a draw, I would hazard a guess that a fridge would slow down steeping

Depends what flavours you're making Derek . . . anything from overnight to 3 weeks I find. Dessert/Vanilla/Custard Flavours take the longest. I wouldn't put your steeping mixes in the fridge either, it will slow down their infusion too much. A kitchen cupboard or drawer would be much better. We do have an excellent Mixology section on the forum for some great advice and recipes. Don't know if you've spotted it. allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/board/18/mixology-general

If you want to use the juice in as short a time as possible then store in a warm place and give it a shake as and when, if not too bothered and it's for stock then bung it in the fridge or a cupboard till needed.
