Having been of the cigs now for 6 months and noticed quite a few improvements body wise, like breathing better and things taste a lot better, how long is it before the wheezing goes or is it here for good after smoking for 25 years, don't get me wrong the wheezing has improved since packing the cigs in, but will its still there albeit not as bad.

While I was smoking my wheezing used to keep my wife awake, mind you she is a very light sleeper, now its just when I take a deep breath in and out, I noticed the wheeze, maybe it requires more time, thanks for your input guys.

This link might help, it looks like it takes a while to regain normal lung function. 1 to 9 months after quitting
Coughing and shortness of breath decrease; cilia (tiny hair-like structures that move mucus out of the lungs) start to regain normal function in the lungs, increasing the ability to handle mucus, clean the lungs, and reduce the risk of infection.
(US Surgeon General’s Report, 1990, pp. 285-287, 304)Hope this helps a bit.

On a personal level I had no ill effects other than a few ulcers for the first 5 months of vaping after smoking for 45 years. However now I am beginning to expectorate all sorts of crap, but I believe this is my lungs rejecting the rubbish I have subjected them to for all those years. Generally I feel so much better than I used to, if you feel you have a health problem see the doc, in the meantime keep on vaping!

I find that first thing in the morning I expectorate quite a lot, but I think it's the PG/VG which is initiating this. I'm coming up to 11 months tobacco-free, so I would like to think that the tar/associated crap that was in my lungs is largely gone now, and this production is a result of the (generally regarded as safe) diluents in my e-juice which is causing the cough.
