OK, lets start out by saying it's highly unlikely that I will be making many box/tin mods. 1) Don’t have the time. (these took long enough) 2) Don’t have the electronics skills. (hats off to the Gary D’s of this world). I do have a couple of wood boxes that are going to become Vamo Mods, but that’s for another post The first is just a straight 4.2v, no frills battery box from Stealthvape. I've wired it in parallel so that it can take 1 or 2 18650's. Should be great for a couple of days fishing and if gets dropped, dunked or generally abused it's only cost me a few quid. I had some carbon wrap left over from a tackle box project last year so cost me nothing and the LCD is out of an old hard drive. Cheap as chips and kicks better than any Sigelei I have ever owned. The second is a small tin mod with a single 18500 battery. I used a scavenged EGO VV board on it's side and a plastic bead to pick up the Red, & Blue LED's on the board. Battery remaining is done by the original "Bar type" indicator inside the tin. The wiring has been beefed up, but not sure if this was really needed, just thought it good practice. Multimeter shows volts at 3v, 3.4v and 3.95v. Amazed at how well it performs. The AGA-S is wicked at 1.3ohms and vapes great at the middle setting of 3.4v.

I'm a big fan of working to a budget and recycling parts so this is a hit with me.

I used quicksteel for fixing the 510 connector, araldite on any plastic parts and yes a blob of silicon to hold wires in place and out of the way.
I place a piece of red cord under the battery to make it easier to pull it out for charging.
Quicksteel is made by "Blue Magic" in the USA, and can be bought online at Amazon etc. I've used it hundreds of times at work and it's the most amazing two part putty I have ever found. I am a locksmith and have even used it to make components for locks until I can get parts. Literally sets like steel.
