Hello & welcome Paul I've nothing to add to the excellent suggestions you have been given so far. But thank goodness you decided to not continue buying the carts @ £14.00 for 5 as that is indeed a rip off

Welcome. £14...ouch. Still, not quite the £20 that E-lites charge. - - You know, if I ruled the world I would ask ECITA to explain themselves about some of their "partners" in the rip-off crime. Some of these "brands" really need to take an early bath.

The clearomiser in the blister pack can be refilled, yes. However, in time, you will need to throw out the clearo.
On an evod kit, the clearomiser will be re-buildable to the extent you can change just the atomizer head for £2.50 instead of buying a complete new clearomiser.
There is no liquid containing atomizer device (clearomiser) which can be refilled forever. Eventually the atomizer will either taste terrible, not make much vapour or simply tire out and not work.

They both work in sort of similar ways. The evod kit is more likely to work consistently and for longer, and includes 5 new heads, so will last a lot longer. The blister pack is a great way to see if you like vaping, but you will soon move on to something better, once you are committed to vaping. An evod is a BCC (bottom coil clearomiser) which means that the vape is slightly different, but only personal experience will tell you what you like best, we are all different

Yes, most of these things are more or less the same. You have a kit which is a battery (or more) and cartomisers. A clearomiser is a clear cartomiser that holds more liquid than a cartomiser. They both use a metal coil which (like the elements in a toaster) glow/heat up and vapourise the liquid. A basic clearomiser will gradually get less effective in time. Rebuildable ones were invented to save replacing the whole unit. As dragon says, what you have (with a blister pack) will have the coil at the top. A BCC has it at the bottom. There are advantages and disadvantages to both. I use both and like both. - - The best difference between using clearomisers over prefilled bought cartomisers is the running costs. Some prefilled cartomisers can be refilled with e-liquid, but in general prefilled don't have wadding that likes being refilled more than a few times. If a user was to use just one prefilled a day at £3.00, it would cost £1,000 per year and provide (maybe) the same nicotine as half a pack of cigarettes, or maybe nearer 1 pack of ultra-lights. If I user buys a clearomiser, replaces the head once every two weeks and uses the same amount of liquid the cost would be around £500. and of course, if you vape more to get more nicotine (enough to match 20 cigs, say) the cost is only increased by a little, as you are just buying more liquid more often.

are there any other starter kits I should look at I am fine for a while refilling my used carts but want to make a decision soon There are that many starter kits thesedays Paul . . . we could probably go on forever posting links, but there comes a point where you just have to take the plunge, buy something and then take it from there while you're finding out what type of system gives you the vape you personally enjoy. Otherwise you end up confusing yourself with all the options. The Evod kit is a good one and the batteries will be compatible with anything else you may buy, plus they are a popular clearo for many vapers.

The batteries in the evod kit are top quality, and should last for ages. Like Perpetua said, you can always get other things to use on them later if you so decide. In the mean time the 2 evods and the replacement heads should keep you going for a while There are a great many kits out there, especially if you start looking at VV batteries, but it gets more and more complicated. The evod kits didn't exist when I started, but if they had, then I would want someone to point me there first. Unfortunately vaping is very much about personal preference and so we can only tell you what we like and don't like, and from there on in it is up to you. The blister pack is good value for money .... but the battery isn't the best quality, and the CE5 is outdated and outperformed by some of the newer equipment. For me at least, it is £7 I'd rather not spend before getting something with a more quality feel and performance. (plus you really need to get 2 because with vaping you really do need a spare battery and clearomiser)

I have a Riva 1100 kit and also a blister pack. To be fair, the battery from the blister pack performs equally as well as the Riva 1100 batteries, except they dont last quite as long. The CE4 clearo in the blister pack is not rebuildable or have replaceable heads, so is very much a disposable item. Evod clearos are great, but have no experience of their batteries.
You can use an evod clearo on a blister-pack battery. Anything you get with a 510 or ego connection will be compatible with anything else with those connections.

I'll just say hi & welcome, Paul, as it looks like you have all the info you need to get started on something better. Good luck with whatever you choose & well done on making a start.

The blister pack battery does perform well, right up until the button stats to stick, and it just doesn't feel as good in the hand.
The evod batteries feel like quality, even the charger feels more robust. The vape is more consistent as it is a set output of 3.7v. They look better and basically overall IMO is a better use of money, even though the blister pack is cheaper.

The battery in a blister pack lasted 2 weeks for one of my friends. The battery would only charge when it felt like it.
The Evod kit will last you many months.
