OMG Blue!!!!!! I should think you need a small suitcase to tote that lot, I feel underprepared now when I go out! Scylla I can't imagine you'd do anything to warrant getting arrested in the first instance . . . would you? Crochet would sit very nicely in with Jason's assortment I think Collie . . . .

There's another good reason for e-cig associations with crochet - my preferred tool for removing the cap from a cartomizer since early attempts to refill them has always been... a crochet hook! I still possess several purchased for just that very purpose and find they do the job very nicely indeed.
This goes back to the time prior to the manufacturers resigning themselves to the fact that vapers being a determined bunch were going to do this anyway, and making it more difficult was not going to stop them. Still no bad thing as it did result in cartos being made more user friendly and caps much easier to remove.
I'm still curious though; what do other users find is the best tool for this little task if you don't happen to have fingernails? As it happens I do possess fingernails myself but still know plenty of people who don't...

Hello Tetsab, how are you doing? I use a straightened out paper clip to remove the cap from cartos.

Bank bags for cartos (free - coin bags), battery boxes or a really useful box cheap and for long trips a makeup bag (mine was 25p from the charity shop ) Simple...modded and sorted Jo Argh maybe that's my crime......I just use a clear plastic pencil case for my hooks.. jason....does river matter on this one? Jo I'm planning on crocheting a sort of zip around purse with pockets and loops to keep my stuff in. A bit like a modified crochet hook case if you've ever seen one of those lol.

Hello Tetsab, how are you doing? I use a straightened out paper clip to remove the cap from cartos. Hi Chrissie! Not doing too bad - some of the time, at least. Been doing one of my mass-catch-up sessions in here yesterday + today; loads been going on, hasn't there!! LOVE the new look for the forum, very sleek and slick, congrats to all involved. Tried out the alternate skins out of curiosity but the new 'Default' is far and away the best IMHO. Hope you aren't finding riding herd on all this taking up too much cat-enjoying time, but huge gratitude as ever for doing it. Grand to see some of the familiar faces still active here - sorry to see MM still hasn't managed to relocate, though. Love and hugs to all who recognise me, please forgive my intermittent (re)appearances! As far as the paper-clip goes I'm sure it does the job fine on the CE2s etc which are designed to be easily removed but doubt it would have cut the mustard with some of the older KR808D-1 types which were well stuck in there. Not many could resist a firm tug with the trusty crochet hook, though, and didn't destroy the cap in the process! For anyone who has some handy, I've found the metal crochet hooks in 1.75 - 2mm size are just about perfect for the job. I did buy a couple from an eBay seller but grabbed several others at a boot fair when I came across some - none have ever been used (by me, at least!) for crocheting anything. Had a look at the dental picks Jason suggested and they also look pretty good for the task but how pointed are the ends? One of the particularly good things about crochet hooks is that having relatively smooth 'points' they don't dig in to the caps if you do need to yank!
