Do take into account that the area around the wick hole will be getting very hot. So I would avoid anything that melts or reacts badly with heat ^^ Touché. Shrink it is then. Shame that I don't have any that gauge - mine is all much bigger for server case cable modding. Any idea what size? infinitesimal?

I bought the other AGA-T2 going the other day. Hoping it won't be too much hassle - I was debating between it and an AGT as I can get a good price on those. In terms of the wick hole - is there a way to insulate them? silicone grommet or something? Gonna try basic silica and ekowool then SS. A while back some vendors (including callum-YouVape) were selling fibreglass 'socks' that you could fit over your SS wick at the point where it goes through the hole. I'll try and see if they're still available

I would advise against anything in your wick hole, if you are getting hot spots The heat generated is enough to melt shrink wrap. When you are working out The hotspots you will be heating the coil to a bright glowing, almost molten state, Anything that can melt will soon become part of the vapour you inhale. Would also think twice about glues in that area, the juice will probably dissolve them.

I got a Nautilus recently - many thanks to feldy Also you need a method of joining res & no-res wire. Scott's video says you can do it by twisting them together, but that just didn't work for me - the res wire is much thinner and bends round the no-res wire without the no-res wire bending at all (maybe he has different wire) so the res wire just slides along the no-res. I use the little silver crimps (500 for £2), but some people buy a zapper. Glad to hear you are enjoying the Nautilus giles is a great atty. If you are still looking for a good way to join res and no res wires a helpful fellow has posted up a good way in the 'tips and tricks' section of AAEC. It has really made the difference for me when it comes to using atties which require joining wires. Just makes it so simple

I recently took delivery of my first RBA it's an RSST, many thanks to Wobblybootie. Watched 1 video, coiled it with Kanthal in a few minutes and spent the rest of the day vaping like a train. OK my first coil was a bit iffy and it had popped come the evening but I cant fault the RSST so far. Now I know what to look out for such as hot spots I should be golden. Even if I had to recoil it once a day I would still be happy with it.

It was with everything now Roscopecotrain, tried SS rope with mesh, mesh on it's own, silica wick on there now with a mesh wrap. Am clueless about coiling and all the advice is different from different folks so thought I'd try everything It had a hot spot with SS cable and mesh wrap, think it was down to gap between post and wick as it didn't happen on the next try with the wick leaned into the post?

I thought mesh would be a hassle but it's pretty easy to work with. Tried heating one lot to kill the springiness and tried another lot without. Not much different TBH, won't bother cooking it in future. The floppiness of the silica wick pee'd me off when I was wrapping the coil so I stuffed a long sewing needle down the middle and left it in, it worked a treat. Our secret though right

In terms of the wick hole - is there a way to insulate them? silicone grommet or something? I was hoping insulation wasn't needed if you burnt the mesh sufficiently?

I was hoping insulation wasn't needed if you burnt the mesh sufficiently? Ignore me, I'm just exhibiting my stupidity when it comes to RBAs. I have yet to actually tinker or even receive mine, I was hypothetically discussing aloud. d'oh. I may be interested in those silica 'socks' though - if that works. See - there I go again. I better stick to swordsmanship.

I have ordered an RSST From Fasttech. I ordered an Oddy aswell but it now says ships in a week so I cancelled that and will wait and see if I will order a Terminator, Oddy or Ithaka. I may even stretch to a Kayfun Lite or Russian 91% if I am feeling flush in the next week.
