im struggling a bit to be honest

The lower the ohms, the lower the voltage required to get satisfaction River. So 1.5ohm DC's are best suited to 3.7 and 3ohm Boge cartos are best suited to 5V. But, thats only my opinion and there are people who want the mega hit of 1.5ohms at 5V. So, in summary, its up to you

Maybe not simple, but just a little bit of maths needed.
All the atomising devices that I've tried seem to work best at around 8 watts. Watts is voltage squared divided by resistance.

I only use 3ohm cartos as I find that 20ohm and 1.5ohm diminish the flavour for me. With 3ohm it makes no difference to voltage you can use both 3.7v and 5v
2ohm and 1.5ohm are regarded as LR and should only be used at 3.7v only otherwise they will burn out.

BUT,these dual coils do work at 5v, and work very well.I much prefer the vape of the dual coils at 5v as compared to 3.7v.Griz is correct though the general rule is to leave 1.5-2ohm LRs at 3.7v.I like to bend the rules a little for the monster vape as Jason said

Ah but ian your Dual Coils are 2 x 1.5ohm so technically they are 3ohm they just draw more power than single coil 3ohm.

Oooo I say, just tried a DC at 5v and it's rather good! Not as much flavour as at 3.7v but I rather like it!

Good on ya Perpy,i love them at 5v in all honesty.I find they can lack a bit of oomph at 3.7v, and 5v tends to break them in well.I totally agree Griz, they do draw alot of current.Im using one on my 101 and its a mind blowing vape, they dont hit hard enough for me at 3.7v.I find the 2ohm single coils a far better vape at 3.7v,for some reason they have alot more oomph than the duals.

They are in parallel Clockworks, in a DC, if that makes a difference.

Is the total resistance 3ohms? Or is it two 3ohm coils in parallel (making 1.5ohms)?
How it's configured shouldn't make a difference, as long as the total resistance at the connector is the same. If they use more current, the resistance must be lower.
However, Griz said that they have two 1.5 ohm coils, which only works if they are in series. In parallel, the resistance would be 0.75ohms, in series it would be 3ohms/
Might have to buy some and see what all the fuss is about!
EDIT: A quick search suggests that they are, indeed, 1.5ohm devices, with two 3ohm coils in parallel. Not surprising they drain batteries faster, as they are pulling twice the current compared to a standard 3ohm carto, and around 30% more than an LR carto.

It's worth the drain on the batteries is all I can say Clockworks . . . these are fantastic, rival my beloved LR901's every day of the week.
