Due to someone enquiring about the SID, it prompted me to get mine out of the box, as I haven't used it since Vapefest.....On doing so, I am now experiencing one or two little problems. In the pic below are the E-Vic head & tube (to the left) & the SID & tube (to the right). You'll notice that the E-Vic tube has a plastic washer thingy in the tube, but the SID hasn't. When I swapped the tubes & heads around at Vapefest, everything worked fine, but for some reason now, they won't. If I put the E-Vic tube on the SID head the head won't turn on...No power. If I remove the plastic washer thingy, it will fire up, so the washer must be preventing a connection to the SID head. I'm fairly certain this won't cause a problem by removing it, but can someone confirm it. Also, I am now getting "low load" & "9.9" readings when I put any of my atty's on the SID....I think the problem is the old "centre pin pushed down" syndrome, which, as I've only used it once so far, is a bit surprising.

Chris are you using button-top or flat-top batteries? Will that make a difference?

Look at the bottom connector of both control heads, the answer is there in the length of the pins. Removing the plastic spacer will only become a problem if the upper plastic casing on your battery is compromised and it will affect the flat tops more for obvious reasons.

Yeah, sorry blakey, I should have mentioned the difference in connector pin length too.........The E-Vic connector pin is slightly longer (protrudes more). My batteries are mainly flat tops, including the protected ones, although I have a couple of unprotected 18350's with protruding pins. Will have a fiddle with the 510 connector later.

With the eVic the pin goes down through the hole in the spacer and touches your flat top battery +.
If you use a nipple top when you swap to the SID it should work. Maybe you had a different battery in at Vapefest?

I thought that too Matt, but all my larger batteries are the same.............although, now I think about it, I had the SID & the E-Vic on that Leo "bod" telescopic mod, which also doesn't have the plastic washer thingy

My Kir Fanis came with one of them plastic O rings for the top of it so maybe you can purchase one somewhere Yeah, that's not really the problem though fiddles........I've actually needed to remove it from the E-Vic tube, to make the SID work on it.....but as far as I know, it can't harm anything......To be honest, it's not that important. All I wanted to make people aware of, is that I was told by the vendor who sold me the SID, that the tubes were interchangeable with the E-Vic.....They are, but if you use flat top batteries, the plastic washer will need to be removed first from the E-Vic tube.
