With further investigation, ive found out the tiny metal connection for the battery which is on the circuit board has broken off. That is very grim. Ive taken pcb out of tube and will need to solder the battery conection plate back onto the board. Any one heard of this happening before or am i just very unlucky. Not saying thanks To grumpy about this happening

Is it still covered by the warranty Hardy, I'd think it must be as you haven't had it long?
I'd be contacting my Vendor if it is . . . .

Failing that above, when you resolder that battery plate and get it working again remember to be careful when putting batteries in a provari- don't just drop them in because each time you do they just slam against the positive connection and its that that causes things to come loose. Keep the provari upright and insert the battery then screw on the bottom cap which will take the battery slowly up to the positive terminal.

do you use some sort of mini soldering iron Hardyboater? I ended up useing 2. The small 15watt one woudnt get enough heat into it so used a bigger 35watt one then added more solder afterwards with the 15watt one with a very small point on the end of it. All obviusly donr under a magnifier.
