Thanks for the compliments, but I have to say that this was a conversion, rather than a made-from-scratch.

A lovely piece of work, if a little ornate for my taste in pipes. For my money, the first picture with the tank attached - which I am too much of a n00b to be able to identify - and the curved stem looks the best combination.
Can I ask you about the firing switch? It looks like exactly what I'll need for my planned pipe mod. You remove the switch to replace the battery? Is there any locking mechanism? What's the depth of the switch assembly? Where'd'ya geddit? And do you know if they do 'em in brass?
While I'm asking impertinent questions - how deep does the 510 connector extend into the bowl? (I'd like my stem section to be as short as possible, and raked more steeply upwards than this, so the depth of the connector is a limiting factor in my design)

The design of the pipe workings is based on an ePipeMods original design. The battery is secured within the pipe by a magnet at the bottom, wired to the 510 outside. The button on the top is likewise magnetic and when pressed completes a wired circuit to the 510 centre pin. The pipe bowl has to be bored out to about 42mm depth to properly incorporate the bottom vape fuse connector, the battery, the top button and pick-up. The 510 connector is a standard one and can be purchased from vendors who sell mod diy parts. The battery is removed by turning the pipe upside down and knocking it out into your palm. The magnetic top button is an ePipeMods original (not cheap) www.epipemods.com/pipe-supplies/v2-and-v2-5-single-battery-pipe-buttons.htmlIf you have some practical workshop skills and are familiar with using small tools it is not a very hard job. My main tools when making these is a Dremel with attachments, a soldering iron and pliers.

Thanks for the info, sej016.
It looks as though my design is going to work - I had my doubts until I saw this switch - but it's going to be a tad more expensive in parts than I imagined.
Also, time to scour ebay for a Dremel, I think. Most of my tools are positively medieval.
