Pam O posted this tip recently in reply to bazzer343 's thread "going to scream soon" allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/28645/scream-soon I have adopted this as a great way to have a ready made nic/pg/vg mix to which I now only have to add my flavouring. Instead of having separate nic, pg and vg bottles on the workbench at the same time and syringing the required quantity from each, I have one 100ml bottle of 18mg 60/40 premix and if, for example, I want to mix a 10ml sample with 10% flavour it is simply a matter of syringing 9ml of the premix and 1 ml of flavour. Simples! ... A big thank you Pam for what now seems an obvious way of doing it

Mixing really can be easy. I enjoyed faffing about with pipettes and measuring cylinders for at least a week Gradually my mixing habits became more and more streamlined, until now it takes me a few minutes to make any number of my favourite recipes

dragon I must have been really dumb not to realise that I was wasting time painstakingly adding the required amounts from 3 separate bottles as all my mixes are 18mg 60/40. Having the one large bottle of 18mg 60/40 premixed now seems so obvious.

It is indeed by far the simplest way of mixing. If you end up adding 20% flavouring you can always add the stronger nicotine base to compensate. I vape 10 to 12mg so add one drop nic54 to every 5 drops flavouring to restore the 12 mg, but really its such a small amount its not noticeable. I also do the mixing by weight now using electronic scales but you have to take into account the specific weights of PG and VG.

Having the one large bottle of 18mg 60/40 premixed now seems so obvious. The flavouring ups your pg a little (normally) and lowers your nic, but you can calculate that into your base mix. My flavours range from 2% to 10% (used to have some that were higher but I have weeded them out) Most people seem to have a fairly standard amount of flavour they add, which should be easy to calculate into the premix. At the end of the day, the small variation in the amount of nic doesn't bother me at all. I know that over time I am gradually lowering it( by lowering the nic in the 500ml base mix I make up every time, and that is all I need to know. I'm back to precise measurements for one recipe atm, because I want to share the recipe once I finally get it right. It reminds me what a faff it is

I find it hard enough siphoning mls without getting into grams and specific weights ... much to like GCSE physics!

See I'm just lazy and buy premixed 50/50 18mg from LTecigs and throw in some flavour =p Maybe once I feel a bit more confident with my mixing I will start mixing my own base nic but for now it still works out cheaper than buying pre mixed liquid =D

I have not read what Pam said yet but what you describe is basically what I do too. I can quickly make up half a dozen mixes in hardly any time.

For Black Kitten I just remove 10mls from the 100ml bottle add my flavours and shake, job done. Then I use the extra 10ml for making up tester juices For flavours that need 20% I split it into 2 50mls then add 10mls of flavour into each I buy stronger nic base for storage though as it takes up less room!

I agree that premix is good, though I buy high % nic from the states. Easier to mix stuff in larger volumes, and more accurate. Also I don't bother with the rubber gloves except when I'm making the premix.
Worth doing bottles of constituent flavours too. My regular vape has 20 parts choc to 5 parts peppermint to one part coconut, so I premix 20 or 30ml of the coconut & peppermint while I have the bottles out.

At less than £6 per 100ml of base nic there cant be massive amounts of difference in price by diluting your own base nic. Where do you get your bottles from Karma ?

Where do you get your bottles from Karma ? I can't remember! Some from UK but some from Fasttech and Health Cabin. Some of the ones I have I don't like, they're too hard plastic to be squeezable. I've also got quite a few bottles that I've washed out. I had saved the 100ml bottles from LT so use them for bigger mixes and just decant small amounts for using. These from FT are quite handy and squeezable www.fasttech.com/product/1425400
