Yes you can wash them out with water. Warm but not too hot. If you mean cartridges then that's all it takes, if you mean cartomisers then you can actually boil them. If you mean clearomisers and they have replaceable heads then you can boil the heads, but not the rest. You can also soak nearly anything (not batteries please ) in bicarbonate of soda, or denture cleaning solution

I used to use an old cleaned out shampoo bottle, you know the ones with a thingy oh what is it called oh yes an arse sphincter type valve in the top. You can fill the bottle with warm water, insert your carto into the valve, which forms a nice seal around it, and gently squeeze. This forces the hot water through the carto to flush out old juice remains, then just let them dry. Jobs a good un!

Don't forget that when they really are dead, Send them to Raid - he can reuse most components, and will make use of all broken and redundant items. Save 'em up until you have an envelope full, then send 'em off - you never know, he might be able to repair something for you sometime (as he kindly did recently with my Vamo!).

Hello Could you add a picture of your thingamadoodle or a better description of it? A cartridge is usually a kind of mouthpiece with foam in it - and it is out of fashion these days.

Sorry for not getting back sooner .... I think I have a cartomiser ... it's clear and it has a removable mouth piece so I can put the juice in, avoiding a little hole ... I washed it out and used it ... but it cracked ... and the juice leaks out :/
There is so much to learn ???

That is called a clearomiser Claire Some liquids are what are called "tank crackers" which means that you can't use them in many plastic clearomisers. Washing things isn't such a big deal, but making sure they are really dry before you use them again is vital. Many clearomisers can be completely dismantled, making drying easy. Some you can only take the top off. These are much more difficult to clean and take ages to dry It would help us if you posted some pictures of what you are using (a link to the vendors picture is fine) then we can give you more accurate advice
