Hi guys
Tagged the below on the end of my newbie thread yesterday but nobody seemed to notice, so apologies for reposting.
Have just cleaned the clearo thing and put a new head on.
On the page on the ecig store which sells them, it talks about washing the head and wicks.
Is there any point doing that - I thought the burnt taste meant that the head was knackered?
When you soak the tank bit and sucky bit (was also embarassed about buying false teeth tables - perhaps I just have a low embarassment threshold) do you soak the metal bit that goes in the middle?
I won't even begin to think about recoiling which you clever people seem to do - wiring a plug that's about the best I can do!
While I'm on there is a meeting in Bradford next week which I am thinking of going to - why do I feel nervous about it? Bit like going to AA lol.
And, for those that are interested, haven't managed to stop the proper cigs yet, thought I was going to do it Thursday last week, was in Manchester with work and as soon as I had finished work, I was driven, yes driven, (mentally) to go to the nearest shop and buy some cigs. Bizarre cos the vaping took the edge off the craving - never mind, going to have another go tomorrow (as, obviously, you can't stop smoking on a weekend, I think there is a law about that somewhere, just can't put my finger on it at the moment )
Had my last ciggie (hopefully) on way to work this morning!

Hi stevels when i wash my clearos i take off the drip tip (sucky bit) & take apart any other bits that unscrew easily then rinse under hot (not boiling) water then put some hot water in a shall dish or empty glass jar add 1 denture tablet & soak for 5 or 6 hours, rinse all parts with cold water & dry on kitchen towel on a sunny windowsill. Its good practice to clean the clearos in this way weekly or if they taste funny, i have also read that if its tasting burnt they need throwing away.

Thank you Di
Just so I can be clear, that includes soaking the metal bit in the middle that screws into the bottom?
And thank you for correcting my terminology, I had wondered what a drip tip was, I don't and it doesn't seem to drip - so sucky bit seemed OK
You live and learn.....................

stevels I take the clearos apart as much as possible then soak them in a glass of water with a denture tablet. I just buy them with my weekly shop. I leave mine to soak overnight, then rinse in the morning and leave to dry for a day or so on kicthen towel. Then dry burn once or twice a month to get rid of any gunk.

I just soak the heads Steve and wipe everything else with some damp kitchen towel . . . not big on this cleaning malarkey me, other than keeping atomiser contacts clean. You can also use plain Bicarbonate of Soda, which is what denture tablets are mainly made of. That's generally in the Baking aisle of large supermarkets. I wouldn't worry either if you're still having a few ciggies in a day, do it at your own pace and what feels comfortable to you, you're more likely to succeed if you don't put yourself under any pressure.

stevels yes you soak the metal bit too, also its a good idea while cleaning your clearos to keep all contact points with a cotton bud or rolled up kitchen roll or tissue & wipe around the screw threads of where batteries & clearos & chargers screw together, i do this with those small medical wipes but an ordinary baby wipe will work too but dry after with kitchen roll. I sometimes use a toothbrush to clean outer screw threads (lol not the same one you use for your teeth ) you will be surprised how dirty all the nooks & crannies get.

Hi again
I keep reading good things about the i16 clearo thing - why is it so much better than the CE5, is it worth changing?
Do the atomiser head things fit both?
Sorry to ask more questions.
