I think my problem is the range of choice!!! I am using a ce5 (I think) 1.6ml volume. I've just ordered a i-clear 30 Clearomiser from Paradisevapes, they get good mentions on here. I think I'll probably go down a more complicated route when I try the Tobacco juice I ordered from them, the generic tobacco flavors I tried already are much better than the fruit flavours, but still not what I'm looking for. I smoked rollups for 30+ years, and realise I enjoyed the taste. The clearomiser I have at the minute is a "cheapy" and I find the Throat Hit OK, if a little harsh, but I'm not getting enough vapour. I started on 18mg nicotine and have found that enough. I tried my mates 24mg and got a headache!! What is the difference between steel and sillica wicks? I'm quite confident doing my own coils, as long as theres enough room for my fingers. If you've got any pointers, feel free. I am looking at electronic (non-mod) variable voltage/wattage at the minute, and I dont want to be "pulling" for a vape.
If you excuse me, I cut and pasted this from another post of mine. I also don't like the leakage with clearomisers, I've had a problem today with juice getting into my drip tip, and down my air tube, and then leaking onto my battery!! I've been looking at a Chiyou "clone" which at £45 seems good value? I know this would mean different batteries and a new charger, anyone had experience with these "Clones"?

I think you made the right choice with iClear - they don't leak and the dual coil makes lots more vapour. I can't recommend the iTaste MVP enough for electronic VV (and with the v2 VW).
I wouldn't hurry to an RBA until you've enjoyed that.

I haven't got my i-clear yet, waiting on delivery from paradisevapes (tomorrow, fingers crossed) I know what you mean about Rebuildale Atomisers, but the one I've seen seems to have a normal "Carto" type atomiser, just a large size one

I think I would personally go for a MVP V2 and iClear30/Kangertech Protank if I were you, depending on if you prefer a tighter or more airy vape.
What is your aversion to a mod? I love my Vamo, and my SID performs quite well too.

I can see from quite a few threads on here that a lot of members are having difficulty choosing which way to go ??? I think I'll try a relatively simple "all in one" Mod, before I venture into rebuildable Atomisers!!

Just to clarify, xs2man, MVP V2 is an electronic Variable Voltage/Wattage device, and the i-clear/kanger Protank are "juice holders". I am looking for an airy vape (I think!!) which of these would be the most "airy"? Are both of these Bottom Fill? I'm finding leakage into my drip tip a pain, and there seems to be leakage into my battery from my cheapie, off the Market "juice holder" Will a Bottom fill device ease up these issues?

The whole world of mechnical mods is a bit weird to me - people paying 100 pounds plus for a glorified torch handle (just a tube, spring and switch) made in someone's garage. I wouldn't deny the beauty of some of them, but I wouldn't spend my money on that bit.
The innovative work people are putting into atomizers, on the other hand - I'll pay to support that (when I'm flush).

For my money (and I don't have a lot!), I would plump for a Protank and a Vamo. The Protanks are BCC and have a glass tank so no worries with putting tank-cracker juice in them. They are also SS, which makes for good looks and a solid feel. The Vamo is a cheap yet reliable workhorse, which will deliver either Variable Voltage (VV), or Variable Wattage (VW). It can also tell you the ohm rating of the clearo/tank/rebuildable atomiser (RBA) which is screwed in. OK, you'll need to buy battery(ies) and a good charger, but once you have made this investment, they will fit a large proportion of the Mods you might wish to obtain in the future. The Protank atty heads are also recoilable - this is nowhere as difficult as it sounds, although of course there is a learning curve, albeit a short one (no pun intended!!). There will be many other suggestions of course, these are just my personal views. Andy P.S. welcome to the forum!!

Can't really go wrong with this recommendation - if its an airy vape you want (and you are happy with cooler vapour) then you can't go wrong with a protank 9(personally I'd swap that for a Mega Davide or a Dbox puritank which are very similar but have a slightly tighter draw and better flavour - all in my personal opinion). I also think iclear30s are the work of the devil but plenty of people here swear by them so bear in mind this is hugely subjective. As for a battery - if you are unconcerned by size then you don't get much more bang for your buck then from a Vamo - I love mine as it does pretty much everything I ask of it and given you can pick up a kit with batteries and a decent charger for less than £35 from fasttech you can't really go wrong with it. However its a tad on the large side to be pocket friendly even in 18350 mode and its less happy with ego fitting atomisers (mine has a nasty habit of unscrewing the tube from the bottom when detaching on an evod) so for out and about I'd opt for something like an itaste mini which gives you VV and VW in an ego battery and thus pocket friendly sized package....it doesn't hit like a Vamo does but its far more portable.
