Spheroid is the best atty I've ever used.

Agree with 300 that what's on top would make the biggest difference to your vape, but IMHO there's no point getting a spheroid or a kayfun/Russian etc only to have an ego to stick it on when it arrives, it'll perform poorly and look daft. Whereas a mod will give you the best out of your clearos while you save up for a rebuildable, just my opinion mind

I don't believe there is any vaping difference between a mod and a ego-sized variable volt. Mods are handy for other reasons (time between charges, telling you how much battery is left etc). The only thing that mods can add to the vape is extra volts, but if you use a low resistance atty then the spinner at max volts will probably burn your juice anyway.
My evods vape exactly the same on my spinners and on my vamo.
I never put a rebuildable on a spinner before but I just checked and my Nautilus and aga-t (two commonest designs of rebuildable) vape just the same, though they look a bit silly. You would need to buy a multimeter if you rebuild unless you get a mod which tells you the resistance, but they are pretty cheap and useful to have anyway.
So if you are strapped for cash and using an ordinary ego, I'd buy a spinner. And spend the difference on multimeter, wick and wire to rebuild your evods.
Do you rebuild your evod & protank heads? If not, I'd start with that. They are if anything easier to rebuild than the true rebuildables. Some people reckon they get a much better vape with different wick material, with micro-coils and so on.
If you are interested in seeing how far your vaping journey can take you, then chances are you will eventually get a mod, but you'll also eventually want a spinner too, because mods are a bit clumsy to carry around.
The iclear is a nice vape, not better than evod/protank, just different (warmer, for a start). Some prefer it to protank/evod (I do, a bit), but some don't. It is possible to rebuild the iclear heads, but such a hassle that I don't think anybody actually does it. The Nova with dual coil gives the same sort of vape, and is a bit easier to rebuild.
The benefit from a rebuildable depends on your juice and how you vape. It is kind of heresy to say so, but I don't think the vape from my rebuildables is any better than from my rebuilt dual-coil nova with my coffee & chocolate confections. It is different though, so I can see why some might prefer it. And I haven't tried to build a dual coil on my Nautilus yet.

So horses for courses I would say. (or in the venacular.. Suck it and see)

No i dont currently rebuild my evod/protank heads, maybe thats where i should start. after all i believe i will be vaping for years to come (government willing of course) and maybe i should learn how to re-wick/rebuild heads on evods etc first. so a spinner, multimeter, wick and wire maybe should be my first port of call. Just seeing that innokin itaste 134 took my breath away, its a sexy piece of kit in a gatling gun sort of way

The only thing to mention is that it looks like you will end up with mods so why not buy one now so then you dont need to buy a multimeter to test your heads. Win win in my book. For the cost of a spinner and multimeter there is your vamo kit. I only say this because i bought a spinner. Loved the vv so went and bought a vamo straight away and have been on mods ever since. If you like the look of mods then i would say get one and then at a later date if you fancy something smaller fpr out and about grab a spinner if not you have saved money. All this is my opinion only mind Sent from my Galaxy Note 2

Failing that is there a cheap but decent uk option?

What are you re wicking snout? As for batteries and charger it might be an idea to get them from over here as easier to send back if anything goes pear shaped. Sent from my Galaxy Note 2
