For adding a bit of extra wick to an existing head 1mm is fine.
The 0.2 Kanthal on that site is fine for making coils.

For anyone who wants to try replacing wicks/coils but has never done it before, Fasttech sell ready-made ones here for £1.83 for a pack of 10

Because I keep forgetting to order wick to rewick the smok, I kinda improvised a bit, was just faffing around really but, by some miracle , its worked!

Please dont all shout at me at once, but I used a bit of butchers string that I came across in the drawer while looking for a pen. I got a small bit off, placed it on top of the wick, put the plastic thingy back on, screwed the bar on again, and by some odd fluke, its vaping!!

Im gonna do a few more till I order some "proper" stuff.

Anyway... cuz I know thats probably a bit "redneck" of me,

If it continues to vape ok, Im laughing, cuz Ive got a big roll of it and its gonna last me years

Lol Smokeybebe I love creativity! Butchers string isn't designed for high vaping temperatures so watch it doesn't get dry or it will burn.



I imagine the meat juices add a certain something to the vape though

It was clean unused string I might add. What will happen if it burns? Like...catch fire ?

Nothing wrong with that, I know someone who is into crafting a uses Candle wick as a vaping wick, after all it's designed to wick and is only bleached cotton.

My butchers string is now rubbish, lol, so Ive ordered some of the ready made wicks from fasttech, and for the meantime Ive also ordered some of the wicks you linked to on ebay, to place on the top of the wick already there, so thanks for those links oneday, appreciate the help.

Im sure in a year or 2 I will be recoiling my own

I take it I have to cut the ready coiled ones to size when they come?
