that was happening to me as well smokey, with the mini davide. Then I sussed it out , I think . The silicone bit on the ridged centre post had moved . After sucking on juice, gurgling and getting a juice filled battery, the penny dropped, that it was only happening after refilling. Unscrewed it again and pushed the cap down and voila.

Chrissie thanks for moving the thread, I know I shouldnt keep posting on the newbie part of the board, habit I think (plus I still consider myself a newbie, lol), but will try to be brave enough to frequent this part, with all the experienced vapers

Right...I think I get it now, so if it happens again I will try doing what you all suggested. I,ll buy some wicks today to have on standby. I,ll also try just unscrewing the rubber bit and rescrewing it, see if that helps.

I hate "faff" of any kind, and I think unscrewing or laying another wick on would be the limit of my "faffing", but will give it a go. Its worth doing because as I said, I do really like the Smoks and have about 12 now (I have to have a different one for each juice ) and when I buy more juices I will have to buy more Smoks, so if I can sort this one draw-back of them, Id be a very happy vaper

The rubber bit and the ridged bit (numbers 1 and 2 in my pic) just pull off rather than unscrew. The rubber bit will come off easily. The other bit might need some tugging and wiggling to get it off. Oooer

Mines certainly better since un-modding, just sent for some wick and kanthal too, as i figured i'll be needing some

The excellent instructions are in that video i linked to earlier are at 16mins in too, really well filmed, nice and clear. Just slide the slider at the bottom of the youtube window to there and away you go :-)

I got my mini protanks today; I'm away from home and brought them with me. The first one I tried is leaking like crazy! It seems to be the rubber o ring that seals the glass tank to the connector at the bottom of the tank - a close inspection shows that it's pinching and coming away from the glass, so the juice can leak around it.

Is this easy to replace? Don't have any tools with me, so I'll need to wrap it up and take it home with me to do when I get back, but I wanted to check if this is replaceable (it seems to be stuck to the dark bottom unit that the coil screws into) or if the whole unit needs to go back.

It's very frustrating because the vape is nice, but I only have limited gear with me for the next 5 days and can't afford for another one to go down!

I've had the same problem with the Smoks and thought maybe I just dribbled to much so I bought some pipecleaners. They do help a bit but still have to carry a load of tissues to dry off the top of the battery on a regular basis. Thank you from me as well, OneDay, for the picture. It makes it all much clearer.

I get my wick here. A bit of 2mm and 1mm will do you for ages

Would I use 1mm or 2mm in this instance; actually, if you don't mind me imposing, I've used up quite a lot of heads recently and have been thinking I really ought to try recoiling so what kind of wire is best for a complete beginner? Then I can buy them both together.
