Hi, Up until now I have been using a 500mah mains to usb adapter along with the charger that came with my ego type batteries. They seem to take hours to charge. I have been given a 2amp adapter. Will this charge my batteries faster or will it cook them? Phil

Probably not any quicker, and no, won't fry them. If you look at your USB charger, it probably says 420 or 450ma Output, so it wont matter how much current you throw at it, it will still output 420 or 450ma

No, the charge time is dictated by the charger itself which for ego batteries should be 450mah max. This is less than your 500mAh usb adapter so the adapter should not be having an effect on the charge time. 4 or 5 hours to recharge is not unusual and indeed is normal.
