Right been vaping from the 25th august and must have gone through 10 clearomiser tanks, I know they don't last forever but would prefer to move onto something a little more secure as half the time am not sure if it faulty tank or user error . Also am not to sure if it the tanks or me but the last few juices I have got tasted foul and it cant all be my taste bubs. Without spending a fortune what would be the natural progression or can some one point in the right thread direction for hints and tips on how to decide. Thank you in advance Eve Happy Vaping one and all

EVOD is a fantastic bit of kit. I have it down to 2 new coils a week (sometimes 1.5 if you can work it out like that) @ £2.50 each.... then all you need is your juice. Its all 510 threaded kit so fits with pretty much anything... give a adapter or plynth or two hehe!
I am sure you will get a tone of other info but I know for sure from using advanced kit the evod is a favourite over all of my stuff.

I wash all my clearo's after every use, and I hardly ever have to change the atty's. I never refill a clearo without cleaning it first. I have ten Kanger T3S's which I have been using for three months and so far I have changed only two atty's. One wore out, the second I dry burned by mistake. I've been using some Visions (V3) for the same amount of time, and today the first one gave up. Who knows with these things, I guess you just have to find the thing that works best for you. Jag. I had a dreadful time with CE4/5 style clearomisers dying on me when I first started.
Moved on quickly to evods and from there to Protanks (minis, v1 and v2) and Davides and the issues stopped. For flavour and reliability I'd recommend any of these (although I'd go for a protank or Davide in the first instance to avoid possible tank cracking issues with certain liquids).
I do often wonder what people do to their coils to need to change them so frequently - I get a good few weeks out of mine and all I do it give them a rinse in warm water after each tank has been vaped

I should probably add that I have just invested in a couple of Smok Pyrex DCT's. I love them, I seem to need to turn the voltage up to get a reasonable amount of vapour from them, but the flavour is perfect. They don't leak, and they seem ridiculously economical.
Early days yet, but this is looking like the road ahead for me.

Sweet flavours caramalise on the coil and coat it in carbon. A couple of my favourite juices will only go a couple of tanks before totally gunking up the coils.

If you like the smok DCT but feel you need to crank the voltage up to get vapour off it I would definitely recommend sticking a punched boge low resistance (2ohm) carto in there. I really don't rate the dual coil carto's that smok provide for their carto tank they are muted and taste synthetic to me. Even though the boge carto's aren't flanged they still work just need to be careful when replacing them as the tank can just spin on the carto. Either that or grab yourself a trap tank (plastic) or a wee boaby (pyrex) they seem to have much 'grippier' (yes that is now a word) o rings and I havn't had a problem with my trap tank spinning on the carto even though it has no locking mechanism =)

I hadn't really looked at the carto's ...... just whacked them in and started vaping. Didn't even realise they were dual coil! Thanks for that, Jordan, I can see a little experimentation will be in order. Jag. (Study the shiny things first, idiot .....)

My coils don't last very long either which is one of the reasons I went for rebuildables. However, I also like Evods, Protanks and Iclear16s. I would like to try the Davides as I have heard good things about them.

Lol no worries mate, I bought 2 a while back from eciglondon because they were £4.50 each =o But yeah they are definitely dual coil meaning if it reads at 1.5ohms it's actually 2x 3ohm coils in there, needs some high voltage to crank out the clouds =p It put me off carto tanks until a friend of mine gave me a trap tank and a low res boge. I've not put it down in about 4 days straight, sat on top of my sigeli 8w it looks the dogs danglies and hits like a freight train =D My genesis and pro tank are sat on my desk feeling neglected as a result lol. For a no faff 100% consistent vape I think carto tanks have over taken the almighty evod in my estimation =o

Clearos don't last forever essexsoulgirl but they should last longer than that. What are you using, and where did you get them? Heads can die that fast, so if you are vaping something that you can't change the heads on, it is probably worth changing to something that you can. Though as Jaguar7777 says, if you wash them a lot that helps. There are lousy copies about of almost everything. I also find my evods completely reliable, but I've seen comments from people who haven't - I suspect they got theirs cheap from China.

essexsoulgirl you don't say which clearos you are using. If they are not rebuildable (able to be stripped down to base, atty, tank etc) then all you can do is give them a good rinse out in hot water every few days and leave to dry overnight. If they are rebuildable, you can, as well as a regular rinse, change the atty when it stops giving a full flavour vape. Either way, an atty should last at least 2 weeks with regular rinsing unless you are using a known coil gunking eliquid.

The one evod I tried lasted mere hours before it stopped tasting of anything. And it was a decent one.
On my rebuildables, I rebuild the coil every couple of days, about the same time my coils on my clearomisers were lasting, tried dry burning them both, but I find it leaves a nasty taste.
You could go for a easy rebuildable, but you could also try the evod first as alot of people seem to swear by them.

Thank you everyone for your comments and giles I think you are correct maybe got a little lazy and cheap ebay copies have all added to the experience not being as good as it was. The only way I am going to find out what is going to work for me is give it a try and I think I may start with evod, So now my market research goes on to find the best deal
