Dimples look ok, the black section around the switch looks ok right up till when you put an attie on - then it looks

I was watching the tour de france in Finchingfield, we were going to come into Chelmsford but we didn't in the end as i was in to much pain from sitting for 5 hours in my wheelchair, and with all the road closures just wanted to get home, but usually come down at the weekends when hubby is off work, but he has a week off soon so might pop over in the week,

Done, as instructed, glad I did:

Just finished dropping a DNA40 chip into one of Pipers boxes,
I had polished and anodised it at the weekend in preparation.
Due to the quality of the aluminium it came out with a grey marbled
Kind of Finnish, which I'm quite pleased with.

In the background you can see a few more chips that I plan on putting in
Some Hana type boxes in a couple of weeks.

I can't remember when one setup has been enough for the whole day,
I normally have several on the go, just realised that I've not touched anything else today.

This mug sample has just arrived, will be getting a selection made up
Over the next couple of weeks.

Been playing around with coil setups and the temp control.
As the nickel wire is both very thin and also very low resistance It seems logical to me to
use a large former to wrap round and do lots of wraps:



that's about 18cm of 0.2mm wire around a roughly 3mm former.
then I wick it, turning the ends in to be up against the coil legs:





and give it a test fire, its a 0.48 ohm coil:




Despite having that much wire the DNA40 fast start heats it instantly, the temp control then
feeds it as much power as it needs to run.

Just had a read of your thread, firstly well done on doing something you love.
Secondly what were them 2 massive copper mods in the opening pictures.
Unfortunately very unlikely I'll ever get up your area but what your doing looks great.
Now when is your website going up?
