Dear All Have decided that I want to go over to vaping but really dont want to waste money on crap gear. Would forum members PLEASE help me on the best way to go as after all my research my head is completely muddled I smoke currently around 20 roll ups per day using Amber Leaf tobacco and I would really appreciate advice on the following 1. Your recommendations on tank systems 2. What strength liquid to use per day 3. How long do Atomizers last 4. Recommendation of flavours 5. Is it worth it Really looking forward to your replies Thanks Terry

1. Your recommendations on tank systems Difficult to say - but the 510-T tanks work nicely, as do the Lea tanks. I'd always advise stronger than you think - min 24mg, but 32/36 might be better... As a rule of thumb, expecting to put 30ml of juice through one is probably about right. However, some will kick the bucket on day one, while others will carry on for weeks, if not months. Budget for an atomiser a week, and you probably won't be disappointed. Another hard one. I'm a devotee of the gospel according to RY4, but you may be attracted to other, slightly more tobacco-y flavours. In the first week, it probably isn't that important, and there isn't a juice that tastes exactly like a fag anyway, so you can pretty much go for anything. Just don't try pizza - it's vomitorious... In much the same way as Cheryl Cole is, yes...

Hi solmar You seem intent on a tank system, any particular reason? because a 20 a day man will find that a cartomiser will hold plenty of juice and it comes with the added bonus of not having to worry about the atomiser as it's built in and they last well- I haven't managed to kill one yet, have a look here www.vapeescape.co.uk/dual-coil-clear-%285-pack%29~121On strength I would say 24-26mg is a close match to amber leaf tobacco but remember that a higher pg content in your juice Will give a stronger throat hit as well as the nic strength and a higher vg content will give a better flavour so you need to find a balance that suits you. With flavouring, no-one can really recommend because everybody's tastes vary greatly, also I find that I use more than one flavour in the course of the day. I use LnB from paradise vapes as a mainstay but when I'm at work I'll have an ego case with cartomisers filled with ry4 and another with caramel and a menthol one, In the evenings if I'm at home then I'll enjoy whiskey cream or cocomel flavour from the link I posted earlier As for being worth it well, in my opinion it is, after a while you find that ordinary cigs just don't taste or smell too clever at all. Vaping gives you the same sensation as the fags but it gives you a vast variety of flavour choice and delivers the nicotine to your body in a much healthier way without dumping heaps of tar on your lungs. Take a little extra time time on your research before you jump in mate, there's a whole wealth of info on this site that'll guide you and a small army of helpful people that'll answer all the questions you will have.

Hi Solmar and welcome With regard to strength, I personally wouldn't go any higher than 24mg to start with, in fact I usually recommend that people start with a medium (16mg-20mg) strength. This then gives you scope in either direction. As Blakey has pointed out, if you want more throat hit, go for a mostly PG based liquid.

Hi Terry Welcome to allaboute I don't have a great deal to add to what you've already been advised. A good starter kit is a 510 type kit, Jason at Vapescape has some good deals on those. Dual core cartomizers are also very good and very cheap, they last well and take a good amount of liquid so you're not constantly filling up. Is it worth it? Personally a great big yes, I was smoking anywhere from 25 to 40 roll ups a day for 6 years or so, 30 years smoking normal cigs prior to that. I've not had a cig in over a year now and have never felt better

Dee is rite it is totally worhit, Although I did it more for health reasons than money as I only smoked about 10-15 ciggies a day, it's a good job I didn't do it to save money as I've spent a small fortune on mods since i started but that Is by choice as it's turned into more of a hobby with the mods, and a 510 riva or simlar starter kit is defiantly the way to go, when I got my riva it blew my mind how good it was, I've learnt vaping can either be as exspensive or as cheap as you want it to be, good luck with which ever route you take and let us know how you get on

Hello & welcome Terry I've never used any tank systems, so can't add any further advice about them. I've been vaping for just over 3 years & oh boy has it been worth it Lol, unlike some (no names mentioned ) I've not been tempted by everything new that comes on the market, so I've saved a fortune. Mainly use my GGTS & occasionally my Riva for.

As i often say go for the best you can afford from the start - i was advised that the riva was the way to go and it is a very good product but with hindsight i would have gone for the screwdriver from day one - so versatile and has good battery life . As said before flavours are a personal thing and what one person loves others hate so buy small quantities of many flavours and decide which you like best.

I would think when peple told you that tanks were the way to go they meant the large tank mods, They hold loads of juice and have the atomiser built in, many swear by them but I find that they look awful so you couldn't really take one with you when you go out for the evening, that said the Ego-t e-cig has a small tank system with the advantage of for the purchase of a £2.50 cone you can turn it into a standard Ego. The Ego is virtually the same as the Riva e-cig that many would recommend on here. Hope that helps.
