Most of the anti cig stuff now is so common place nobody takes any notice, Just saw a tv prog showing effects of ignored diabetes - Feet turned gangrenous and needing to be amputated - now thats hard hitting , The anti smoking is not working with the young especially female of today and needs a change of attack.

I still reckon get kids at say 8/9 and give it pretty bluntly with pictures and people telling of their been there done it experience and add in the odd gravely ill person struggling to walk and breath etc and i think it would hit home much more than say warnings on cig packets and the like that almost now blends in and is hardly noticeable, Need also to try and at least get to zero nicotine vaping and just hope the boffins don't come up with some other reason not to vape .

Stopped smoking last november can't remember the day but a year approx, In the early days its tough when after smoking for nigh on 40yrs you just stop ,certainly missed the act of smoking not sure about the addiction to nicotine thing but anyway i cant ever see myslf lighting up ever again but never say never. To be honest i have not noticed any medical benefit in fact ithink stopping has caused more problems, Doctor told me that i had been having a daily anasthaetic (spelling ?) for the period i had smoked and it had masked some discomfort feelings that i now have .Obviously it would have been better never to have started to smoke and i think education to prevent others from starting needs altering because it does not seem to be working as it seems more youngsters than ever now smoke .Each county could have a place of learning that all school children attend in their early years it should be ex smokers getting accross the info and should include some graphic harsh content . How much if any impact did smoking have on type 2 and its complications ?

Stopped using the dreaded weed 12 months ago and been vaping prob 10 months now , liquid usage has dwindled over time to probably only about 10ml a week now . Also as time has passed i have reduced nicotine content of liquid and dont know wether its just me but flavour seems to have suffered. One flavour for example used med nic choc banana and loved it now got low nic choc banana from same supplier and liquid is horrid . I would have thought flavour would improve whilst throat hit might have reduced .Hope its not the same with most flavours .

Went into TW shop in Oldham today expecting to be able to get a SD switch or probably just a couple of springs and guess what no stock of such things and only had a very limited stock of anything else ,prices not good for the limited stock either £10 for a cone atomiser got 30ml of cherry whilst i was there at £15 instead of £20 due to an offer ongoing - also 4 10 ml bottles could be had for the price of three £15, unknown chinese brand. Now purchased a pack of 5 switch sets from TW at cost of £23 inc postage - not happy and have also ordered from another source a box of assorted compression springs in the hope that some will be suitable for SD use.

Screwdriver is a super bit of kit but has a major fault THE SWITCH is crap not only can the button work its way off and thus lose the spring also - the spring can get deformed causing you to try and stretch it out a bit . It rarely works properly after being tinkered with . Attempt to get a spare and for a spring worth 10p you have to invest £5 + postage to get a spring button and screw , Scandalous theses should be sold as a pack of 10 springs with probably 2 buttons and one screw for about £3 . Currently looking at a spring from another product or supplier to rectify the problem.

Ulcers

echinacea ? sounds like some old wives tale cure all - They seemed to have a cure for any ailment in the first half of the last century . Cod liver oil - Fennings lung healers - etc etc . Will look into the Echinacea thing ,will try and report back .I have that many ailments if it cures or eases any of them it will be worth it .As far as vitamins etc go i currently take very high doses of 3 as a measure to ease diabetes complications - Alpha Lipoic acid ,Evening primrose oil and Vitamin C and not sure how to measure the good they have done but surely see some improvement.

Thanks for all messages ,Oral specialist was very good - A youngish chap prob very early 30s and he used the sentence "Cant find anything sinister" so he was obviously looking for the same .Must go and get the results of my recent MRI scan of my head ,i didnt rush due to work commitments and difficulty getting a gp appointment anyway and worked on the basis that if anything significant had been found they would have contacted me .Got multiple symptoms all through body and been trying to get diagnosed for 3 yrs and still no nearer .Most is probably down to diabetes complications - It aint good once you get past 50 .

Ulcers

Well ,Doc /Specialist could find nothing that concerned him i didn't mention the Vaping due to the NHS being paranoid about smoking and prob similar with Vaping due to ignorance. He checked various things and gave the all clear telling me i need to do a better job of cleaning my teeth due to bad gum shrinkage.Seems due to many other health issues i may have that i could well be more prone to things like mouth ulcers as Monster 74 suggests above (being run down) It did get me thinking though - i had in mind those chewing baccy pouches they had years ago an American fad that caught on here and i remember them being thought to cause oral cancer due to the nicotine contained.

due at oral specialist today 3pm so may have something to report back - it was the way dentist reacted on seeing ulcer that made me think it could be fairly serious ,I asked him wether it could be serious and he didnt answer only saying he didnt want me to worry .Caution ? he must suspect something or why refer me to hospital .Have been using a multitude of different liquids so cant pinpoint the one being used when ulcer rears its head .

Thats how things started for me ,the skin peeling inside bottom lip then moved on to being sore for a few days before going away completely only to return 2/3 weeks later and again be sore for a day or two before going away.

Ulcers

A couple of months ago started getting a sore lip that seemed connected to Vaping - went to dentist and he said i had an ulcer and would make an appointment straight away with a specialist .From his urgency i gleaned that it could be a bit dodgy and asked him ,he would not commit and said he didnt want me to worry ,I now have an appointment with specialist at hospital and i just wonder wether it could be to do with the juice i remember the nicotine chews from a few years ago caused some oral problems .Just in prep i want to find some ZERO nicotine juice to use in my SD that tastes ok and gives good vape and some throat hit .Ant reccomends of any strongish flavours that could be suitable probably more fruity etc than cig taste and what combination of juice is best for zero nicotine.
