Welcome to AAEC Wow, another skycig user looking to cross over to the world of better products and cheaper filling. 40 a day is some serious smoking (I hope you don't mind me saying so) and I would say it is scientifically impossible to quit that sort of habit with either skycigs or E-Lites or Nicolites without reducing your nicotine by drastic amounts, so you've come to the right place. What *none* of these brands really tell the user is that the amount of puffs is more or less irrelevant. I could go upstairs to the attic room and make an e-cig from various bits of my collection that could do 400 puffs from a little cartomiser (refill). It wouldn't produce much vapour, and worst of all, if you did indeed puff it 400 times in one day (40 x 10 puffs) you would be lucky to get 1/2 a pack of medium cigarettes in nicotine. I would say introduce yourself to a straightforward kit (so you've got batteries, charger, tanks and liquid) and see how you get on. If you buy a decent kit, it'll always be there for back-ups if you decide to go for bigger batteries or variable voltage eGos. I would suggest looking at Vape Escape, or myepack, or perhaps ukecigcabin or vapeland. PLEASE, please, be very careful before you order from an unknown place. The good people on here will always tell you if a kit is too expensive or rubbish or has bad items -- -- -- -- -- In fairness to skycig and all those, they are not telling you you "can" quit smoking using their products, nor should anybody ever make that claim, because things are not that simple, but an alternative needs to be realistic. That is where the "big boys" of the little e-cig world are all telling massive porky pies.

Hi fizziebizzy and welcome to the forum. You've already received some great advice, and I would just like to reinforce some aspects of this. With your fairly high tobacco usage you will certainly need 24mg juice, but it might be an idea to get some 18mg too, just in case you find the higher strength juice a bit too strong. VV (Variable Voltage) - yes, definitely. A Spinner or Twist battery gives you the option of upping the amount of power going to the coil which heats up the juice, enabling you to vapourise a bit more and give yourself a bigger nic hit. Conversely, you can notch it down when feeling relaxed and not needing so much. My 1300mah Spinner takes about 4 hours to charge, and lasts all day between charges - get yourself a couple of these babies, and you'll be sorted. As a high smoker you have an advantage!!! With your daily outlay on fags, which I presume is around £17/day, you will recoup the financial outlay in gear and juice very quickly. A week's fag money will get you 2 Spinners, a couple of Protanks or Evods to put the juice in, about 120ml of juice from Joosejuice (see Super-Shiny's links above), and even some change too! Please continue to ask questions, we have all been where you are now, and have collectively years of experience to share with you. We can (and have) point you in the direction of the best and cheapest online vendors, which will work out considerably better even factoring in postage than a Bricks and Mortar (B & M) vendor. The choice out there is amazing if a little bewildering at first, so ask away Andy

Hey Fizz. * A word on the Mini Protank linked - I started with the Mini Protank kit as my first device, and truly, every tank I've tried since has felt inferior, like I learned to drive in a Jag and then got given a Mini Metro for my first car.. * Not to knock the Evods and such, they do a good job, but that MPT is just niiiice to use, and imho, you want your opening experience to be as good as possible to keep you going, you know? * Spinner/Twist batteries are good - I use mine much more than the Stainless 650mah battery that came with my MPT kit, but in truth, it's usually set to roughly the same "power" setting as my regular 650mah battery (just a tiny bit higher @4.0 vs 3.7) - It's main value comes from the fact that the occasional juice here & there benefits from the extra voltage, again imho. * Given a choice and knowing what I now now (I'm like 2 months in), I'd suggest a Mini Protank and 2x batteries (plus charger & heads) bought separately over a kit with 2x plastic tanks and 2x batteries any day, something like the MPT kit and then 1x spinner/twist battery - use the spinner as your main vape & keep the 650 mah for evening while the bigboy is charging.. Best of luck mate!

Hi Fizzie and Welcome to house of madness. When you have decided on which battery you need, Spinner or Twist I would say, with a glass clearomiser like the Protank, you will also have to consider what Liquids you are going to buy. This can be a minefield as there are so many to choose from, I would suggest you try several, nicotine, fruits and menthol, we have a list of Vendors that give discounts, there is also a list of Liquids that will crack a plastic cartomiser so avoid those. Happy Vaping

Fizzie, I know it all sounds... mega confusing, I also started on sky cigs ( its a fine starter) You learn you can <maybe> cope without actual cigarettes? I know I did when trapped in a non smoking hotel room all week and I also learned that it wouldn't be enough to make me quit. This time 9 days ago --- I couldn't imagine NOT smoking,. and here I am, a week and a half later, E-CIGGY vaping happily. It's been a couple of gentle prods, via forum advice, but I have managed? Like you I was (am) a heavy smoker, but I'm not tearing hair out (so far) Just sit back, read a lot and ask away!!

Hi fizzie, welcome to a confusing world. A DECENT quality Variable Voltage battery (Spinner, innokin etc.) will help, try and think that " I'm NOT stopping smoking, I'm taking up Vaping!" Make sure you have a couple of decent batteries, a quality Tank/Clearomiser (the thing you put juice in) find out how to do basic maintainance (its easy, ask on here or look it up on the just starting out bit on the home page) and be prepared to be surprised by the flavours of juice you may begin to fancy. Oh, and a new member on here reckons a side effect is feeling "Friskier" Drink PLENTY of fluid, as a side effect I can guarantee is dehydration.
