One of my new cats decided to hide in my loft.
In looking for the cat I found a box with about 7-9 spiders possibly more, adult and baby sized. One looks very similar to a false black widow spider. The others were at different angles so hard to tell or hide when I shone the torch on them.
They are not my favorite living thing as it is.
Any suggestions on the best method to remove them/kill them. The box is too large to lift down from the loft easily.
The cat came down of his free will when his tummy rumbled.

Not panicking Jen first notice the spider in the box in march and thought nothing of it. Moved the box to one side hoping the spider would just move out so I could carry on sorting. The spider didn't move out it looks like it has had babies which is the part which is concerning me as not there are quite a few I can see and probably more I can't see. If they are false black widow spiders I don't want them hurting my cats 2 of whom are great at catching and eating spiders. If they do bite apparently they can be quite nasty though not lethal.

Just leave them. They eat nasty bugs. Cats are unlikely to get bitten, and spiders aren't poisonous if eaten, just venomous if they bite.

Well, if it was me *I*'d be moving out, let me tell you! Can't do spiders of any kind But if you're brave enough, looks like your best bet is a pint glass and a postcard :/

Not carrying the vacuum up to the loft, spiral staircase and Dyson are too heavy.
I can remove most spiders if I can get a glass over them easily then slide a piece of card underneath. But as there are quite a few in a box with junk in not going to be easy to remove them. If the spiders move whilst I try to get rid of them I would down the stairs and out the door quicker than a cat chasing a mouse.
Is there anything like flea bombs for spiders?

try fly spray ? it works on flies I don't know why it shouldn't work on spiders.
