Is it not possible that multiple people can connect to the internet through the same router and thus show the same ip address? I just searched whats my ip on google on my laptop and on my phone and both came back with the same address.

Were both users online at the same time, or one after the other? if at the same time, then possibly may not have been him, unless he is smart enough to use two different browsers to have two sessions open at the same time (or 2 devices). I have logged into some 'specialist' sites with 4 different browsers and 4 different users at the same time before.

Does your logging include device type/browser/operating system used to access the forum?


As I said, I'm not condoning what he did in any way, just felt it worth balancing the 2 users from the same ip issue (though I expect it was him).

However, I agree that more than one person could have the same IP address. But in this case we have full, alternative & verifiable evidence that jimmy & odj are the same person, plus 99.9% evidence that a new id created today was also him.

Thanks Chrissie I was just adding the possibility, that's all. I thought you would have done a lot more work on it than just the same ip thing. I appreciate all the hard work you have done on this, and to Grant also for offering to rectify it at his own cost.

Lets hope that's the last problem of this type that you have to deal with for a long time

In fact, I've just checked on ECR & seen that he has joined there today with the same new id that he created on here - jaycee I've let a member of ECR know as folks on ECR have also had issues with jimmy
