I have done a lot of trial and error today, a lot of reading different forums and a whole lot of coiling lasso wicks But I think I may be on the right track lol. I won't know until I put my ADV in it, but right now it seems to be vaping well with puros in there. I am 100% sure it is all to do with the filler. So I have cut my filler material down to 50mm x 20mm and it seems to be a much better vape. Im not sure I will go any smaller with the filler as I think it is on the limit and any smaller will produce leaks. Also the vapour was good yesterday but now it is mental lol. Lets see how it goes I guess.

Ain't had time to coil it yet ginge7289 been busy coiling 2 x Russian 91%, 1 x Fogger (plus had to repair this as it was not 100% correctly made), 1 x Duel coil dripper, 5 x Protank heads all with microcoil and cotton for a member on AAEC. Worst part was the Russian 91%'s was in complete bits like you would see if you was putting one together from scratch, had to google like mad and found a video but that was not even that good explaining how to put it together

Used to set mine up with single 3mm wick feeding the coil from both sides but got fed up with juicy fingers when topping up.
Now set up same as Dave, 3mm wick single loop (so coil wrapped around 6mm of wick) diagonal between the posts, no need to touch the wick after topping up, 6mm of wick made a big improvement on something i was basically happy with anyway.
Coil just a fraction above the air intake post so i can just see daylight between the them, 1.3ohms to 1.6ohms does me just fine, recently been using 1.5ohm res/no-res from Billy at Grey Haze.
Using the 'wonderfoam' filler from John at Vapourart, there's been some debate as to wether or not this filler material performs any better than the rest, personally i think it does for me but i don't doubt that others get good results from Sera & Juwel, i just found the 'wonderfoam' easier to judge how much material to get in there to suit the juice i use, no dry hits, no overwicking & pretty consistent from full to empty.
Won't try to compare to a Kayfun, i had a 2.1 & 3.1 on the first & second runs from C9V but they just weren't for me, sold & traded for more Spheroids, also have a Vochu conversion kit which is a good piece of kit but the vape from this type of atty is a little on the cool side for my taste. Also have a Taifun which is a much better engineered piece of kit than the Spheroid & also performs very well but it loses out for me because of a cooler vape.
Good luck setting yours up, if it doesn't work out for you you'll have no shortage of takers for a trade or sale.

Are they not the same as the 3.1 but smaller? I think I would get a russian if one came up and move on one of my KFL's. Least you got it sorted though..... So your task tomorrow is to get the 2.1 set up and a pic on a MOD

cheers for your input 300, I managed to get 1.8 with a 3/4 wrap on 2mm silica doubled over which is about where I want to be otherwise my coil cloggs up to quick with HoL juice. I tried 3mm doubled over today, side by side but I kept getting shorts. I will try tomorrow with them sat on top of each other. I really enjoy the vape from the kayfuns and when things were going wrong today I was considering putting the roid up for a straight swap for a 2.1, but there seems to be a bright light at the end of the tunnel and I think I am getting there with it. It is because of comments from people like yourself that I have spent so many hours over the last few days trying to get this right. I am sure it can be as good as the kayfun and it is ideal to take out to work with me.

Are they not the same as the 3.1 but smaller? Same as the KFL in size but have adjustable 510 and has Airflow, gotta say though they feel and look as same quality as the Kayfun lite, could not fault them in anyway. Did not try one out vaping wise just coiled them so i don't know how they compare.

The Spheroid is pretty robust, most people would be horrified if they saw the abuse one of mine gets at work but it stands up to it very well, i gave up trying to find a cheap alternative for work & just resigned myself to the fact that my work roid might sustain some damage. Sounds like you're having some success with it, good for you!

Have to say ginge7289 though this kit is a blessing when rebuilding, especially when tugging on coils to make them nice and tight on posts/screws, makes life so much easier, don't think i would of done the coils so fast without it, got the parcel today @ 2.00pm and got them all sent out by 4.45pm

Ps best keep the fogger quiet I know another member is struggling! But I'm not quite confident on doing someone else's yet or I'd do it for them, want to ensure mine are all ok first, have put through 1.5tanks of juice so far and all ok (touch wood)
