How the game Football manger rate him "The game's database ranks players out of 20 for a series of attributes and Kike scores most highly on off the ball (16), bravery (16) finishing (15), balance (15) and stamina (15). So while we're trusting Football Manager (and for this afternoon, we are) he sounds fairly well equipped for a season of Championship warfare. Interestingly, the new man is given a 3/20 for goalkeeping. We're reliably informed most outfield players only score a 1 in the gloves department" I now know more about him than my own life.

He does sound like a good find so will be interesting to see how you get on next season. No doubt I will hear on here about your ups and downs. Hopefully more ups ronaldo. Good luck. Just had a look at your squad on wiki and with 3 spanish players on board and a manger. Paella will taste so good for you on matchdays. Thinks that's complimentary

first friendly out of the way played at Leeds Aitor Karanka used 23 players, including three goalkeepers, against competitive opposition in a game not lacking a competitive edge, but neither was it one rich in quality in temperatures not too far short of 80 degrees.
David Atkinson started at right-back and both he and Ryan Brobbel showed up well in the early exchanges but it was another Academy graduate who opened the scoring.
With 18 minutes played Boro played out from the back with Atkinson finding Andy Halliday through the middle. It was his well-weighted pass from inside the centre-circle which picked out Luke Williams who beat goalkeeper Stancioiu with a most accomplished finish from 14 yards.
Chances were limited for the Romanians and they could ill afford a missed opportunity squandered by Bumba, though Dimitrios Konstantopoulos saved well from Hora. With four minutes of the first half remaining a terrific ball from deep from Richard Smallwood picked out Luke Williams who controlled on his chest, skipped past a defender and beat Stancioiu with a shot from 14 yards. Williams was denied his hat-trick in the final minute as this time the goalkeeper was equal to his effort.
Half-time Boro 2 ASA Tirgu Mures 0
Having changed goalkeepers just past the half-hour mark, Karanka made 10 outfield changes for the start of the second with Smallwood the only one to re-emerge.
Fewster had a shot saved early in the second half, before a powerful run from George Friend brought a corner as Boro made a positive start.
A third goal was on the cards and that came with 54 minutes played as Lee Tomlin sent over a good cross from the left after the Romanians were caught napping from a corner and Christian Burgess powered home a header from eight yards.
Jason Steele became the third goalkeeper used when he took over from Tomas Mejias on the hour. One of his first duties was to pick the ball out of the net as a 22-yard shot from Voiculet was too hot to hold and Amauri tucked in the rebound.
Barring a couple of half chances, there was never any suggestion of a comeback as Boro continued to control the game with Adam Reach having a shot saved and Fewster and Grant Leadbitter both shooting wide before a fourth goal was added with 81 minutes played.
The Romanians failed to deal with Tomlin's left-wing corner and Bradley Fewtser pounced to tuck home in a crowded box.
Boro could have had more in the closing stages as Curtis Main headed across goal from another corner and Tomlin shot across the face of the goal before firing just wide.
Teams: Boro first half: Konstantopoulos (Mejias 31); Atkinson, Woodgate, Hines, Gibson, Halliday, Whitehead, Smallwood, L Williams, Kamara, Brobbel.
Boro second half: Mejias (Steele 60); Morris, Ayala, Burgess, Friend, Reach, Butterfield, Smallwood (Leadbitter 60), Tomlin, Main, Fewster.Order of subs on 60: 1) Steele 2) Leadbitter.
ASA Tirgu Mures: Stancioiu; Bejan, Sepsi (Candrea 73), Voiculet, Hora, Bumba, Henrique, Salageanu, Szerely (Amauri 57), Constantin, Velayos. Unused subs: Botosergi (gk); Gugh, Balaur, Amoroso

If you want to sammy13 - you can start another thread for the season ahead. Is there a problem with threads when they get too long, or a maximum post limit?

I remember someone starting a post about it a while back, and for me, if I am on the tablet out and about it always goes to the first page, and can take ages to load the last page.
Just thought new season, seems to be more interest at the moment, start a whole new thread easily accessible.
You start it though , as you were the starter of this one so only fair
