I know there are quite a few fans on the forum, so I thought we need a thread to discuss the footie!
A few ground rules before we start: - this thread is open to anyone, no matter what their level of interest in the beautiful game - friendly banter is welcome, but keep it light-hearted please - don't post links to streaming sites on here out of respect to the admin team - jump in, participate, have fun!
---
I've just watched the Spurs v Everton game - not the best game to start this thread with as it finished 0-0. We (spurs) battered them first half, completely dominating the midfield, but as usual couldn't put the ball in the net. We play a lot of nice passes in front of defences, but lack decisive penetration (oo-err). Everton were much improved in the second half and in the end the draw was a fair result.
Our defence has has been rock solid this season but we just need more time to gel as an attacking unit. I hope we can do so soon, as everyone around us are dropping points. I only saw part of MOTD last night but both Man City and Arsenal (grrrrr) looked impressive.

I too just watched Spurs vs Everton, Spurs totally dominated the first half but solid defending from Everton, stopped Spurs from scoring. However there was a clear foul from Everton inside the penalty area but the Ref did'nt give a penalty. To be fair Everton too had a penalty denied in the second half but if Spurs had been awarded the first penalty then who knows how this game would have worked out.
Loris took a nasty blow to the head and should NOT have been permitted to stay on IMHO but he did and seemed no worse for wear. In another bizarre refereeing decision Lukaku got booked for the clash with Loris even though to me it seemed a complete accident. An absorbing game, Spurs definately dominant but Spurs need some teeth, we're up to 4th with only 9 goals scored, Man City one place above us have scored 28.

DiscoDes - it was a good 0-0 to watch, as you say it was an interesting game. Our goal difference may be a problem at the end of the season, but the points are the key thing at this stage. 4th, level on points with the favourites, and a rock solid defence - this is not a typical spurs season... mybad - but you love vaping, so we'll ignore your minor faults

Just wanted to say I love the thread idea, but have nothing to contribute right now. Didn't watch the game, and I am working all weekends these days, so getting to very few games myself.

I was once asked if I would play for Kilmaur's Football Club. When I told them that I would be more of a hindrance than anything else as I hadn't played football for 20 years, they replied, "Oh that doesn't matter, as we haven't won a match in the last 48 games!"

0 0 away at Everton is a decent result...only problem is we didn't look like scoring. Both should have had a penalty also
Got to still be up there at Christmas so when Pato joins in January we can push on for a top 4 finish

Lol lobeydosser - you could have ended up being Kilmaur's answer to drogba! slimmingjoe - I don't know about Pato, I'd settle for a proper left back in January and AVB deciding to play only one holding midfielder at home, or try 442 from time to time to give some support to Soldado. COYS indeed!

Hello there, I am huge fan of Premier League. Awesome fans, perfect grass, some of the best teams in the world and again awesome fans. Ok, so I'm a fan of Manchester City since 2010 I think. I don't want to upset anyone but I have a question for you. I am from Romania and Costel Pantilimon (one of the goalkeepers) is a Manchester City player. I want to ask you how the MC fans or the UK press see the switch between Hart and Costel for the first goalkeeper. I want an objective opinion because here all I can read is that Costel needs a chance and he wants to live. Thanks

Well, a terrible result for spurs today. I only saw the first 30 minutes as I was out this afternoon, but my god we need to start scoring some goals. Soldado needs some support, our inside forwards must pull in and one of the holding midfielders has to start making runs forward off the striker. We don't need two holding midfielders at white hart lane arrggghjjj!!!!!
Nice goal by Remy, credit where it's due, and at least arsenal didn't get a result against Man U - small consolation though. It means ill I have to grit my teeth through MOTD2 tonight.
How about the rest of you, happy with your weekend results?

I am a Rangers supporter and attend most home games.
I was at the game yesterday and it was pretty dull but we got the 3 points so thats all that matters.
As always an impecable minutes silence for our fallen heroes before the game. Lest We Forget.

The mighty potters threw away another 2 goal lead today Been useless since we sacked Tony Pulis. Glory hunters had more than a say in that decision. Won't be long until were back playing the likes of Bradford and the glory hunters will be nowhere to be seen Sent from my GT-I9300 using proboards
