I've never really liked tropical fish but a marine one seems tempting. Is it a bad money pit?

If you keep it small its like most things its expensive as the things you want to keep.
Mine at the mo costs around £150 a month for salt, electric and food etc.
To keep a succesfull reef its more about time to check and clean things on a regular basis to keep the paramiters stable for the corals to survive.

That seems very steep bear, how often are you changing the water? a bucket of salt used to be about 50 quid and that would last a few months.

Bleedin mahoosive, your corals growing ok? I go to one old boys house and his tank is about that size, his fish and corals are massive, he's had them for donkeys years. We might get a tropical tank again soon, as soon as stepdaughter finds a new home for the corn snake, which isn't easy lol snake is in the place a tank would go.

I dont keep corals any more. I got into salt water due to loving the look of some of the larger angelfish. However most of them like having coral for lunch. So when work started taking most of my time up the corals went and the angelfish came.
It doesnt look as good as a reef tank but the fish make up for it.

Afraid my tank has become a bit neglected since I found vaping. You gotta love those flipper magnets, theyre great. Do I know you from RCUK? We have a member from Selby on there?

The only site i go on at tje mo us Ultimate Reef. Ye the flipper is a good bit of kit. Makes getting to the bottom of a 30" tank a lot easier to clean
