Hi all I got some steel rope for my rsst with my last order from mesh company. I was wondering what people have found best to cut it with as I guess I'm looking for a nice clean cut. Thinking wire cutters or tin shops but wondered what the best suggestion is

some nice tin snips but not £1.29p ones , or if you have a dremel with a cutting disc, that would do nicely.

I find heating the rope up makes it easier to cut

side snips and a lot of pressure, try and do it in one go that way you get less frays.

Thanks everyone for the tips, will try and have a go this weekend and see how I get on. I like those cable cutters too, very nice.

A set of cable cutters and heat will give the cleanest cut, closely followed by a rotary tool with cutting disc. Side cutters/snips will usually fray more but eventually give an ok cut. Cherry red with a torch and then chopped with cable cutters is a winner!!

Although a little dearer than those previously linked these are also excellent for cutting steel cable. No heating and little effort required to get a clean cut every time.
