need new batteries and charger

looking at 18650 unprotected for my vamo - is this right?
seen intelligent charger on myetech here myepack.co.uk/batteries.html
as they're good del etc

the batteries - are the ones here protected? myepack.co.uk/batteries/nitecore-18650-li-ion-battery.html
i don't want them do I?

I bought the nitecore i4 charger and efest batteries from myepack recently - the nitecore battery is protected, so not suitable for your vamo.

The nitecore charger is slightly cheaper on amazon I believe.

The 18650 efest batteries are fine, but at 2000mha you can get batteries with better capacity. Others have recommended torchy on ebay for batteries, but I haven't used him myself.

Having said that, I'm really happy with my purchases and I tend to buy everything from myepack because they've always been great. I also got the efest 18350 batteries from here as I like my vamo in the smaller size for out and about, and these have been excellent.

I don't want to buy button top ones either do I

will have a look at the smaller ones as the vamo's a bit bulky in the car (and my bag)

I've this massive fear of things catching fire so want some good quality ones I can feel safe with

I use button tops in my vamo without any issues - it can take both flat and buttons.

If you go for the smaller ones, get a few - I find the 18350s last me at least a day each but I'm not a chain vaper (if only work would allow ) plus I use other devices at home.

edit - the efest on myepack are unprotected.

On here somewhere is a chart comparing top quality batteries 18650's. Put together by barrynorton & Jaguar7777 the panasonics, were by far the best. glentoran I'll keep looking for it.....

I have 3 Panasonics and 1 AW.

Oddly enough, the AW seems better than the other three.

Here's a quote from the ECF forum.

I load tested the Panasonic IMR 18650 2250mAh against the AW IMR 18650 1600mAh and the winner is? It's a toss up.

At first glance, you may be impressed by the much larger mAh of the Panasonic, but keep in mind, all that extra mAh comes after the battery is discharged below 3.5 Volts, up until that point, the AW IMR holds a higher voltage under load and achieves more mAh.

My recommendations:

-If you run non Variable voltage mods such as the SB, GG, Super T etc, the AW IMR 18650 is probably the better choice. Assuming you change your batteries out at 3.5 volts by which time your vapor is getting weak, the AW IMR 18650 1600mAh holds higher voltage under load up until that point and achieves 1125 mAh at 3.5V whereas the Panasonic achieves 1011mAh @ 3.5V.

-If you run Variable Voltage/Wattage mods, the Panasonic then becomes the better choice as VV mods will continue to boost down to 3.0-3.3 Volts, where the extra mAh of the Panasonic can come into play.

What it all means, I have no idea. However, I always use the Panasonics in the eVic SID and AW in any unregulated non-VV mod.
