I'm shocked and appauld to call myself British at the moment at all these mindless acts of vandalism.
This will have a knock on effect to us all in the end with insurances and such like.
Bring in conscription I say and put the scumbags to good use on the frontline in Afghanistan and let's see how brave they really are.

Clapham, Balham and Tooting were my stomping grounds when I was young. It's sad to see MM

Just got home from work and all the shops are closed and boarded/shuttered, the petrol station is closed, even the Polish car cleaning place is deserted. Trouble heading this way methinks It's a shame this country is so bloody soft, when they catch these scum they should really be made to pay. Instead it will be the victims fault for not fire proofing their rubbish bins and for parking their cars in places that it was possible to be attacked and for having the audacity to own a shop >

Blakey I'm so glad the bus driver was OK, it'll probably cause her long lasting effects though It's horrendous that this is being allowed to go on, they're taking police from other areas, but what happens when the troubles spread futher. Just heard a 16 year old was arrested in Glasgow for trying to incite rioting there, he was very clever and posted it on Facebook! Sorry but got to laugh at the idiocy

Can't believe that Nicky, I'm sick to the core with it. Mindless idiots!
There's been a couple of shop windows smashed in Cannock, evidently they're expecting it to kick off tonight!
I heard Wolvo had been a war zone today River!

I'm just over half a mile from Tottenham High Road but well away from the trouble apart from shrieking sirens and helicopters. Tragic about the lovely buildings they burned down. There's been a lot of money and regeneration into Tottenham. Locals are very, very pissed off with the thugs. Green Lanes, a mile or so of restaurants and shops open 24/7 is anticipating trouble tonight and there has been a large Police presence there since this afternoon. The Greek and Turkish Cypriots and the Kurds have put aside their differences and have united to protect their shops, homes and cars armed with machetes, swords, knives and goodness knows what else. They won't hesitate to use them either. Don't think I fancy Shish Rioter, Doner Hoody or Hoody Kofte for dinner tomorrow

You took the words right out of my mouth, if this was happening in America, mit would have been dealt with and stopped by now but not here instead we take the softly softly approach................unbelievable The problem is the police have about 100 camera phones and dozens of media pointing at them continuously and the police service has been under so much scrutiny they are frightened to actually use force any more as it can be misconstrued as being excessive force. It is our own making and that of the media and the youth know the polices hands are tied. It will only get worse as long as Human Rights laws are obeyed above and beyond what they were actually designed for. These are difficult times and I feel this is only the start of something bad for this country until we empower the police and build more prisons to stick these yobs into, this will happen again and again. Sad to say that I have to agree on this point. The police need to be able to contain this situation NOW and just stop it. My old haunts have been burnt out and looted. I've walked home from the station and most of the pubs/bars/shops have been boarded up just in case something more starts tonight.

I heard on the radio this evening that the police were going to be issued with plastic bullets. I didn't hear whether or not this just applied to the Met though.

I read that the use of plastic bullets/the army/water cannons are all being considered at the moment.
