Warning Received from Proboards abuse.

May I ask Chrissie , why Proboards? Is it because it saves the cost of using your own server or some other reason?

Not complaining about their rules or anything, just genuinely interested?

What's to stop them in future changing their rules to say they won't host anything to do with nicotine and closing it?

I am so sorry you feel that way siffy. This is a brilliant forum for the promotion of e-cigs, BUT we all need a bit of humour to lighten our day. Some of the topics may have encouraged double entendres, but the warning we've had from Proboards will have made all of us more careful that we don't lose this voice, or overstep the mark.

Don't let us lose this forum, and to you, please don't stop posting. I'm sure lessons have been learned!

fiddles I'm fairly certain no one reported anything to Proboards. I belong to another Proboard forum - a very small private group of old friends from way back. One of the members of that forum posted some beautiful glamour pics her adult daughter had commissioned to boost her confidence after coming out of a violent relationship. There was no way in a million years anyone on that forum would have reported the pics to proboards support, but they also got the warning from Proboards Abuse team about the forum being shut down within 48 hours unless the content was removed.

If that is the case than i would suggest to even myself be very carefull of what is posted, it's just a click of a button (i presume) for pro boards to shut a site down

ukric when I was given 24 hours notice to remove all links to e-cigs on the eBay All About E-cigarettes group, over 4 years years ago, the only other type of forum I'd ever used at that time was a Proboards hosted one. At the time, we had over 600 members in the ebay e-cig group & just the day before I got that warning, the love of my life ( a smoker) died from cancer It was really important to me to continue to help as many people as possible to get to know about e-cigs, so I went with the only host I knew about at the time.

Ahh I see, just the easiest and quickest to set up, fair enough

Not a criticism, just a thought. If I was on the borderline of being tolerated after 4 years hard work I would be looking at alternative options.

Yes, Proboards abuse can shut us down with just a click of a button

Above all, the most worrying thing is that they only send the 48 hour warnings to the forum founder via PM. If I'd taken a couple of days off ........

Political correctness, health and safety, they've both gone mad beyond all reason. 40 years I've been a bricklayer, building houses, flats, schools, even a dog stadium and all manor of building work. I can't even buy a full 50kg bag of cement now in case it's too heavy for me. Bless!

This whole thing is beginning to get out of hand with people at each others throats and some members threatening to leave.

Lets get a few things straight here ... if Proboards are threatening to shut AAEC down then we need to take it seriously and from now on police ourselves.

If anyone comes across what they view as an offensive post, report it immediately to the moderators.

This forum is too damned great for us to take the Proboard threat lightly so take it on the chin guys and lets do better in the future.
