Something that you need to bear in mind........

For example: Company (a) Strawberries and Cream will almost certainly not be the same as Company "b" Strawberries and Cream. (Unless a re-bottled product)
This is true for taste and strength.

Company "a" Strawberries and Cream you might mix at 10% flavour and think it's the bees knees.
You mix Company "a" vanilla at 10% and think it's tasteless.

You see where I'm coming from, it's a minefield, and only your own personal experience really counts. Bob from Halifax might be an ex 60 a day man with no taste buds left in his head. His opinions are probably meaningless.

That's the main reason YOU HAVE TO KEEP A RECORD of everything that you mix. Not just date but also include, Make, Flavour, % flavour used, amount mixed, PG/VG ratio, how long steeped, what you tested it in and what you thought of it. I also include a "What next" column. i.e., add another 2% flavour and try again in 2 weeks etc.

It's amazing how much will have changed in say 12 months time. I look back now and LOL at some of the things I mixed, and some of the comments.

If you have a good search around the forums you will find lots of posts on this subject, especially strengths.

Personally I don't think you can go wrong with Capella, and for someone just starting out in mixing it's probably a good idea to use all the same manufacturer's flavourings.

Stick to the mainstream for now, Capella, Perfumers Apprentice, Decadent Vapours etc.

Oh and lastly, buy some syringes for measuring, mix small to start and sterilize everything....

She's already bringing me over some goodies, I can't take too much of a liberty, besides she needs some room left in her case to pack her own stuff

Leave her there at the airport and just send the case....sorted.....juices are more important....i am sure she will understand

It's ok for our purposes Toots . . . CCW play safe with some of their flavours if there's any alcohol in it, but it's fine to use.

 Rom's Rhubarb & Custard Recipe is one of my all time favs.

Super-Shiny I found some food flavouring in my cupboard last night, it is by Dr Oetker and its called vanilla natural extract, so I did a bit of that finger tasting and it was absolutely horrible. It also had an aftertaste that I've found in some of my pre-made liquids from one particular vendor, so I looked at the ingredients in this bottle which are as follows:

Water
Alcohol
Extract of vanilla

I am now wondering if my bottles of pre-made e-liquid have been mixed with alcohol in the flavouring which is producing that 'not very nice' aftertaste - what do you reckon?

Other e-liquids from different vendors don't appear to have that aftertaste (thank goodness).

I doubt it Toots . . . it's more likely to be the actual quality of flavourings used, supermarket/lower grade flavourings being quite cheap aren't going to have the best ingredients. Which is fine used in foodstuff, but not so flavoursome for our purposes.

As you're low on fruit flavours, toots, would you like a bottle of PA raspberry & also tutti frutti, plus a bottle of M&P butterfly bait? I have them here & won't be using them, only used enough for a 10ml try of each. If you do, just drop me a pm.
