Wish I could help ... I would suggest that it would have a serious effect on the Vamo ... It acts as an insulator between +ve & -ve terminals... If nothing else I hope my reply bumps this up into the view of those more electronically minded members

spikus is correct ... there is also the worry that if an atty leaks, juice may get into the electronics and maybe gum up the switch button ... if you have a backup battery I would advise that you don't use the vamo until you get it fixed.

On a more positive note someone should hopefully be able to reset it into position for you

mine has the same problem but its ok, as long as the pin dont make contact with the negative sides, but because its a regulated device if it did short it would say 9.9 or 0.0

Potential scenario could be.eliquid getting inside the head over time causing corrosion/sticking of internal components on the circuit board which in turn could compromise built in protection. Also the leads have a bit of play in them so moving around and contacting the neg is more than a possibility. It really is a case of best being safe than sorry for what is a very easy fix (remove head, reset grommit and push closed with the only drawback being the heads a bit of a bugger to get off) hope this helps
